In Topic: Wilderness PkP suggestion

22 October 2024 - 02:13 AM

Let me start off by saying the wilderness is very dangerous, everyone who enters should reasonably expect if you encounter another player they might kill you, I've never had an issue other than broken heart when I've entered the wilderness to pvm. However there a few "pkers" such as Bobby Lazer who targets naked skillers for free PkP, literally stalking every Skilling spot making it completely unusable for anyone trying to skill. My suggestion would be to take away ALL PkP rewards from killing a naked player who is carrying nothing in the wilderness, it couldn't guarantee wilderness Skilling would be an option because after all it is the wilderness. All giving PkP for killing naked players does is give incentive for fully geared pkers like Bobby Lazer to have alt scouting 1 Skilling zone while he is checking others or teleporting to me in wilderness agility to kill me. No staff can be happy with the way PkP is currently being collected, there's almost zero actual pvp in the wilderness leading to PkP. It's solely being gained by locking all wilderness Skilling areas to anyone wishing to skill including NEW PLAYERS after being stalked. Ppl complaining about revenant pkers are just mad, don't include me with them please because death in the wilderness is a likely outcome and I've always understood that. I'm humbly just asking for there to be no PkP reward for killing a naked players. That's the only change I want and would suggest to help new and existing players be able to do wilderness skilling without the fear of PkP farmers killing them when they literally have not a single item on them.

What you are suggesting is allowing for little risk to people who are wanting to go to the wilderness to skill because the wilderness has a exp bonus to skill in. Firstly that takes away risk/reward of wilderness even more, secondly there are plenty of OTHER ways to skill and make money besides the wilderness, in fact most moneymakers are found outside of the wilderness save for revenant farming and bossing. Yes there are supply chests and bloody keys/chests in the wilderness which again come with high risk and reward.

Wilderness is not essential for skilling at all, you want to skill in the wilderness? Do it for the bonus "AT YOUR OWN RISK" otherwise do skilling elsewhere. You are a donator, go to the donator zone (::dz), go to any minigame, go to any of the skilling guilds for said skills. It is not like wilderness skilling is ESSENTIAL at all for anything.

As far as PKP, most people get pkp by killing people going after supply chests, bloody keys, bloody chests or the boss fights in wilderness, not by going after skillers.

Account Name (IGN) - Shadow16

Discord Tag (Name#0000) -ShadowPhoenix

What is your current rank? (Put N/A if currently unranked) - N/A

Name of the player who recruited you. (Put N/A if not applicable. RECRUIT ONLY) - N/A (OdOnMemes reccomended me the clan for hangout)

When did you last apply for a rank? (Put N/A if this is your first application) - N/A

What rank are you applying for? - Recruit

What are your strengths? - I am active on Alora, on discord all the time and am very quick to learn new strategies and mostly self sufficient in finding answers for things after being a long time osrs player although much of my info is outdated

What are your weaknesses? - I am not great at higher end pvp due to ever really learning strategies and combos

In a short paragraph, please explain why you feel you deserve the rank you are applying for. -

I am pretty self sufficient on discovering my own answers for things and willing to assist others. I am quickly learning strategies for bosses and will be ready to raid after a couple more upgrades. Although I am (relatively) new to Alora I hope I am able to join Ice formally and gain a ranking after being a guest for most of the week.
