I could not agree more with this suggestion. CoX, being a raid, should not punish you for bringing more people in with you. As you mentioned, this is not a thing on OSRS so I don't why it has been a thing here for such a long time... Balancing the purple rates with the amount of people in the raid just... makes sense.
And, as people mentioned above, not only would you be able to do CoX with your friends without that "i'm griefing my drop rates" feeling, it would be a nice incentive for clans to run learner raids.

However, as Yautja said, it is important that we do not turn this around - start rewarding group CoX but punishing solo CoX.

I'm currently going for the Grandmaster combat achievements while doing a personal boss pet challenge on the side.

 

VII. In a few sentences, tell us why you want to join AFM?

Lately I've found myself doing a bunch of content with people from the clan, which has made me form a few new friendships. A lot of them have been very helpful towards my road to GM and I'm also gonna participate in the upcoming Raids Event with 4 other afm gamers and it's honestly been super fun. The game's way more enjoyable if you have people to share it with and that's what I'm looking for at the moment.
