Question for Omicron,
For next leagues, would it be possible to have another option during account creation to select "Not competing mode", which would only allow IRL donations (no bonds), and not be eligible for prizes, but increase drop rate to 8-10x at Tier 7?

How does everyone feel about above?

 

Came to check on how Leagues are going and got another episode of Real Drama with Real Alan. Can't complain, I find it hilarious.

I personally think Alan should be able to have any name he wants, considering what names are out there. In this case, if an admin got offended, just change his name to Ruck Alan or Ruck Real Alan, done.

In the end, Alan seems to be an active member of Alora community and is putting in his time to make the server better. Making suggestions or baiting out staff, he's still contributing. 
I can see how staff can be fed up with him, but how can you not appreciate his persistence on studying each rule to find some silly loophole. He's like a villain in every kids cartoon, scheming and plotting his next Alora adventure.


Hoping "My problem with staff 5" will have some more fun drama
 

I agree with @H and @strudelle suggestion, about turning all ironmen who has traded into different color icon and possibly renaming to a different mode. (Team mode or w/e)

Alan is talking about integrity of GIM, which no matter how much people defend, is flawed.

I'm sure the server has missed out on a ton of members simply because when a group of friends comes from OSRS and invests into GIM, they eventually see "Buying/Selling GIM bank" and go WTF???
Any effort and prestige of a group becomes useless.

As @Scorn has pointed out, sometimes there are things that are abused forever (Akkha). To be fair, changing things for the sake of integrity feels like shit, but it has to be done for longevity of the server.

TLDR: keep the removal tickets, change the name of GIM to TeamMode (Green Icon), add a legit GIM mode (Blue Icon).

If team members get bored, well the rest are SOL, only true GIM will survive.

People just seem to hate on you and your suggestions.

I support having extra value to items donated to the well.

 

Current ToA item examples:

Lightbearer suggested price is ~30m, in TP for 23m, auto consumption for average 31m, well for 25m. If it's noted, then it's only 3m for some reason.

Fang  suggested ~260m, in TP for 140m, auto consumption 157m,  well for 141m, noted on well 218m

Masori body (f) suggested ~700m, tp 666m, auto consumption 857m, well for 615m, noted on well 596m

 

Lightbearer is middle ground, sell or donate, same value.

Fang is the massive one here, if I wanted to get rid of it, I could sell it to a merchant for 100 mil quick... or I could give everyone well access. (Although I think that 218m value is pretty OP)

Masori body has no issue buying or selling for 700m, huge devalue to put it in a well.

 

People who donate to the well are the people who already have nearly everything in the game, so allowing to donate items for a some extra value should be rewarded.

At least knowing that if market prices are crap, you have the option to give back to community while helping out the eco.

 

Also, item prices definitely need fixing, (see noted lightbearer for 22m loss and noted fang for 78m gain)

 

Question is, keep it as it is, when you can potentially get 50% gain on some items, or just aim for 10-20%(or w/e) gain on average price of last 100 sales.

 

 

TLDR: Extra value to donated items lets player decide to donate for greater good or help tanking the item further.

 

 

 

 

P.S. Server message "Did you know you could donate items to the well for extra x% value?"  would be cool to see.

Due to popularity and hype that new Leagues brought to OSRS. I feel that many people will come to Alora to have similar experience for free.
It would be cool to have short video guides on ironmain content, skilling and early bossing. You could use existing written guides and show first person view of how it's done.

I'd show off RuneLite functionality and HD117, presets and all that stuff. It makes Alora absolute gem for anyone who finds it due to osrs nostalgia.

Same value is achieved but more incentive for people to do it. Right now it heavily relies on someone putting 50m+ to even get it started and with current economy slowdown it's less and less likely.

Side note, if the well had a HP bar to show how much has been filled might get people to spend extra.
