I don't think it'll really break the game mode lol, they arent worth much on normal mode and only irons who already have tbow will really care about them. I actually enjoy Puro Puro sometimes but it gets crowded with even just 1 other person there.

There's many things you could put them in: Vote shop, pkp store, daily task shop. Imo all of the shops need a rework anyways.

Could also instance puro puro for higher donors, add more d imps to puro, increase rate on d arrows, increase quantity on d arrow drops from puro, increase the amount dropped at chambers of xeric as currently its not very often or a large amount you get.

#486823 new rank?

Posted by 96 on 17 May 2024 - 08:20 AM

Gotta agree with @strudelle I think eternal could use a rework. I understand people don't want the rank to be too OP but until you've played an eternal account it seems a lot more op than it actually is. It's actually rather underwhelming/not noticeable over other ranks. Would like to see if the 19% drop boost works as it seems worse than the other ranks with a boost.

My droprates have been worse since getting eternal I think my tob went from like 1/15 to 1/28 and chambers from 1/10 roughly to like 1/15 (which i had a better rate as legendary lol) i go what feels like 15-20 dry every purple drop whether i do it on boost/boosters etc at cox while other ranks see similar or better rates. 2% drop rate extra for 50b (or thousands of dollars) is not really worth it especially when you see people with 1/10th (uber bis which is why a lot of people dont go over uber) your rank and a similar/better log. insert "ujusthavebadrng" but most eternals seem to agree.

Most high end donators dont really need perks like the farm contracts, slayer task select and dense essence blocks,pc points, vote timer etc (unless low xp mode or going for 200ms/new accounts). 5 new skin colors are nice since i enjoy cosmetics but they get stale since there's only 5, the title is interesting but again not worth 50b to upgrade from immortal.

The unlimited swaps are nice if you plan on making and committing to new accounts as you're locked in for 3 months but not everyone will utilize that.

Eternal is mostly a flex at this point as it offers not much over immortal yet is double the price so even seeing new exclusive skins/cosmetics/icon colors under your character etc for eternal donators would be something to compensate for spending 100b/20k if the perks such as droprate or raids rolls can't be buffed.

So no support on a new rank as our best rank is underwhelming already. I couldn't see a 40k rank adding much that's over eternal to make it worth getting without being too op. Would support reworking eternal donator though.

#471455 Make TOB (Normal mode) easier

Posted by 96 on 29 October 2023 - 11:13 AM

Everyone asking "Why not learn the content?" or "why is it people will learn toa and cox but not tob"

The answer is simple on why threads like this get made. Tob is "Team" content. You need a team to learn. Cox and Toa you can practice over and over until you figure it out and get a feel for it. Tob you need players to raid with to even start attempting the raid and no one wants to run with new players or teach. So how are these players supposed to learn when no one takes learners? When's the last time the people saying "just learn it" hosted a learner raid? lol. People raid with their friends in super max gear and experienced raiders only and the rest of the server struggles to find a team.

The problem is that Alora doesn't have the player base to support team content. Nex is the same situation. Cox and Toa are enjoyable and people practice them because you're not relying on other people to allow you to do the content.

#471243 New way to spend loyalty points!

Support for some cosmetic rewards or supplies or something in the shop that isn't too op. Maybe some outfits that aren't already custom donations or some new skin colors for a large amount of points. I haven't used any of mine in years except for the teleport pod.

#471241 TOB scaling

Posted by 96 on 26 October 2023 - 02:07 PM

Support scaling for duos and solos also. I don't see a reason to gatekeep the content. Alora simply doesn't have the player base to sustain group content (NM and Nex included) and players shouldn't be locked out of content simply because they don't have a team. No one who doesn't know the mechanics is going to be running solos if it's scaled down. You still have to learn how to tob it just makes it so people can actually run the raid because as of right now I hardly consider TOB to even be part of playable content. As far as devaluing Tob's difficulty there's still hard mode (Which nobody runs lol) could leave that untouched or make it more difficult if players want a challenge.

#458165 Latest ToB Updates

Posted by 96 on 19 April 2023 - 01:49 PM

I do understand the frustration of a lot of the players and why people dont like the new changes but lets be fair, the mechanics arent really that hard to learn. I know that the main issue is new players not wanting to try TOB because of its current difficulty but isnt TOB supposed to be end game, its clearly not made for new players? I feel like TOB is the only chance to make enjoyable content for the veteran players and players who want to spend time learning the game. Why are people so eager to take it from them? In my opinion letting a veteran player have fun at least in 1 of the end game content is way more important than making it easier so new players can do it more. (At the end of the day the drops arent that useful as Tauri said, which means people arent being let out of potential other content because of not having a TOB unique, so if someone doesnt want to grind them… just simply dont)

Also seen a few comments going after people that raid with experienced players with max gear, spoiler alert: i dont have max gear but i have never been told no when i asked to raid. And why is that you might ask. Its because im willing to learn mechanics and play the game as intended.
(To be fair i havent been that active lately because of irl, but cmon, learn a few mechanics and let the veterans enjoy something especially after everything else in the game is WAY easier than in osrs)

Respectfully I disagree with this. One of the things that draws players to rsps is the fact that content is fairly accessible. With this mentality because 5-8 veteran players enjoy and do Tob on the regular after the latest update then the feedback of the other 350+ players is irrelevant and they're out of luck. Really all I see is newer players being excluded from the content more and more. If these updates were to better tob and the content why are so few people running it/ enjoying it now?

Also no one is saying change the mechanics. Prior to this update people were mostly willing to learn them and tob was finally starting to be ran a bit more after the mechanic update (albeit still not very often and the feed back was mostly 50/50 on the new mechanics, I personally don't mind them). They're referring to the latest update which buffed verziks defence.

If you prefer to melee verzik as that's the proper mechanic you're completely able to do that and it's bis with scythe (as it should). If you don't want to raid with people who use blowpipe/tbow/bowfa or whatever other weapon on verzik you have the option not to. But what does it matter if newer players are able to use those methods to complete the raid? It doesn't impact anyone else, so I'm not sure why we keep getting these updates to make tob less accessible. No one is coming to Alora and saying "Tob is bad because it isn't 1:1 to osrs" it's usually along the lines of "tob is dead content" because they can't find a team and now complaints that it's unenjoyable.

+ I've done 100+kc post new mechanics and maybe 15-20 post verzik buff so not all my kc is old. I've done a fair amount on every version of tob just throwing that out there.

#457973 Latest ToB Updates

Posted by 96 on 15 April 2023 - 01:39 PM

Agreed, the mechanic update and all is whatever but locking out newer players without max gear isn't the move. Tob is already dead except on bonus and only ran by a few players. I've done many different versions of tob and this by far the worst/most inactive I've seen it. It's almost as if we're discouraging players from running it or getting into it at this point. As ahk said it takes so long to find a team and now that there's a higher gear/experience requirement it's even more difficult as otherwise you're going to waste 20 minutes wiping at verzik not to mention the issue is still there of newer players not being able to complete to achievements because it's too inactive. Making dead content more difficult doesn't make it more active.

#452240 Buff Nightmare & TOB drop rates

Posted by 96 on 28 January 2023 - 07:03 PM

Support for both.

Tob is dead content now. I don't really see people forming teams or doing it all anymore especially since the update due to it being harder. A lot of people can't even run 5 for the achievements. 5 raids are unable to be completed due to how dead it is and this is something that's a problem for a lot of newer players looking to comp or do achievements. Even on bonus there's usually 1 or 2 teams running leaving out people who can't form a 2nd or 3rd team. The content is just not really accessible any time of day. Shame because it's fun content. Another thing to look at is the items themselves. A lot of people want to keep the price up which I can respect but the items are less useful than they were years ago when released. Tumeken's Shadow is much better than the sang staff making it no longer bis and the Fang is on par with the ghrazi but much easier to get. Scythe is pretty much useless outside of tob (Which is dead thus making it more useless) and a few select bosses/rooms in CoX also it is incredibly expensive to use and justiciar has pretty much no use at all lol. I lost my loot tracker but I've had 4 drops in about 180 raids doing many on bonus and probably about 20 duos. Something needs to be done for TOB otherwise the content will just be left dead.. I won't post my log as ToB has been buffed a bit, my change in donor ranks and the addition of hardmode since I had about 1150 kc ( now about 1.3k) but its awful haha. I personally don't really run it anymore unless a friend needs a +1 as it's bad gp and going about 40 kc between each item just isn't worth it.

As for Nightmare I don't have as much KC as I do at Tob so I can't weigh in as much but I will say due to the drop rate and the use of items I haven't bothered grinding it. Fun boss but just seems to be a waste of time since it takes a long time to get a drop. The items are completely useless at this point other than just to collect or for their extremely niche uses. They aren't high value due to their use in game so even though they're very rare they just aren't worth a lot. I don't know that people even bother with it on bonus tbh.

Would like to see both of these activities active as it's end game content and imo both are enjoyable. Also reviving ToB is good for alora as it encourages newer players to stay instead of discouraging them. Hopefully a solution is met to make everyone happy lol.

#327775 TOB Drop rate Discussion

Posted by 96 on 21 December 2019 - 06:58 PM

You are aware no matter how many times the rate gets "buffed", you will still be able to go on 100-200+ dry streaks, correct? Buffing the RATE does not change how RNG works. It's been buffed enough, and to be honest at this point it is just people complaining because they didn't get a specific item they wanted yet. Why risk the chance of ruining the items you want so bad, because you got unlucky?

So half of the server is just having "bad rng" 2-5x? I just happen to get bad rng over 5 times? Having 5 100+ (and a 250+) dry streak on an RSPS is just lame. Not to mention on that 250 streak and my recent 100+ streaks post buff there were many done on bonus, duos/trios, a lot of 4s, high point raids etc. Still no drop until after 100 raids. The point of this is to decrease the 100+ dry streaks that pretty much everyone with decent kc has had multiple times.

The issue isn't about people not getting items they want. It's about putting in 30-50+ hours without even getting a drop or a chance to roll for an item. The topic is to buff the overall chance of getting a unique drop. Certain items such as hilts and justiciar are brought up to show what a waste of time the content is when you spend 50 hours to get an item like that. The non uniques are useless and tbh half of the uniques are useless. And I don't quite get how it's "been buffed enough" when the only people who have a significant kc after the buff clearly say it's still awful. People take the time to put 100s of hours into the content and provide feedback, it would be good to listen to what they have to say rather than people who don't even partake in the content (This isn't aimed at anyone just a general statement)

#327324 TOB Drop rate Discussion

Posted by 96 on 19 December 2019 - 10:31 PM

Currently 1101 kc with 21 drops (lol) only 3 of those drops being weapons (1 sang 2 ghrazi) so the rest are just common uniques (7 hilts and 11 justiciar pieces)

I've gone

98 dry

121 dry

259-261 dry

112 dry (post last buff)

140 dry (post last buff)

Those are just notable dry streaks i remember, plenty of 50-70 dry streaks too. I went 260 roughly dry for a Justiciar piece so that was 100m made in about 73 hours of tob which felt like a huge waste for a useless item. I've known many players in my time on alora go 100+ dry of all different donor ranks. I also must say it's not very motivating to play the game when you don't see any progress in your account for 30+ hours of raiding (and wasting supplies) as the non unique items are completely useless to alora (such as swamp tar, battlestaves, runite ore, silver ore etc) the quantities are so low they don't offer large xp or use when you get them as drops and it just feels like you've gotten junk for spending 20 minutes in a raid as opposed to osrs where you're making gp off non uniques.

#325787 Solo/team Chambers of Xeric suggestion (Slight changes to the ice demon room)

Posted by 96 on 10 December 2019 - 01:33 PM

Strong support.

They're fine for team raids, but in solo raids I've had them be extinguished right as I click to add them to the brazier. This won't make solos easier or ruin the raid, it just speeds up a very boring part. Perhaps make it longer to extinguish them or make it to where you only need to get the hp bar down half way like in the other scales.
