#305781 Theatre of Blood Drop Rate Buff

Posted by God on 18 July 2019 - 11:01 AM

Was not saying his reply was out of context. And no one in this thread said we don't want the bonus anymore, in my opinion that's the only real chance we have of getting loot at the moment.

Also what I find strange is almost ALL staff members voted no to this thread, but what's funny to me is almost ALL staff members are Immortal rank or high donators... You guys don't have the issue.

Maybe that's only funny to me, but the fact that HIGH donor staff members who are able to actually get drops, decided to vote no to this thread. Very very interesting.

Thanks for your feedback.

I wasn't quoting you nor did I say you were the one saying his reply out of context. Beers did, That's why I replied with his quote.

--

I'm not sure what's strange about the staff members voting what the best option for the server is, Hoping to keep the balance and fun of the game alive.

--

Regarding "almost ALL staff members are immortal or high donators"

I took a very quick glance before getting blocked out by the firewall and saw atleast 8 staff members with legendary or under.

8/23 = 34.7% which comes out to 65.3% of staff having higher than legendary donor status. So I can't agree with this statement as 65% is far from "almost all".

Most staff members are people who have played for a long period of time and acquired wealth over their time of playing. So trying to say that because staff members have a higher tiered donor status is the reason they want to protect the game is just reaching for an excuse in my opinion.

The rates match old school rates and hopefully this is how it will stay.

#305778 Theatre of Blood Drop Rate Buff

Posted by 7 on 18 July 2019 - 10:32 AM

I voted NO, here are my reasons;

Both raids tables are stupidly over vamped to the point where some items from raids aren't even congratulated anymore, i.e the 'Prayer Scroll' or the 'Avernic Defender'. Back before winter just gone (December 2018) Raids were at a perfect spot, items were at stable prices for example, Prayer scrolls was around 200-225m, Avernic defenders were around 900-1.2b each. Now you'd be lucky to sell a scroll for 75m and an Avernic for 300m. Since the COX buff that @Omicron applied a few months ago, I have personally seen a Twisted Bow at least 1-3 a week, there were a few cases of some GIM's and EIM's obtaining 3 Bows in 100 KC. I don't know if you played when I started, but raids drops were actually an accomplishment. The state of raids and the increased loot has had a direct impact on the economy, thus destroying the incentive to raid in the first place. Theatre of Blood has already seen a buff, which was obvious when before buff I had received nothing but the pet in 115 kc. I now lay around 450 KC and have had;

- 10 Avernic defenders

- 3 Grazier Rapiers

- 3 Sangunesti Staffs (however you spell it)

- 1 Justicar Helm

- 1 Justicar Platebody

- 2 Justicar Platelegs

- 2 Lil Zik Pets

So you're telling me 22 drops post buff isn't a "buff"? Also consider the variables of time. Theatre of blood takes 15-18 minutes (with a good team) so you can do 2-3 TOB's before you finish 1 solo/duo COX.

Donator rank

You could argue that because of donator rank that's why they get so many items and it's "unfair". Just think if this ridiculous suggestion gets passed in one of the updates, the larger donator ranks will reap in all the rewards further destroying the prices of the raids items making raiding utterly useless for non ironman game modes. Here's a suggestion for you all in a matter of fact; Instead of gambling your money away then returning to PvM just so you can fund your next fix.. Why don't you save all your money and invest in Custom Donations, Omicron has a great deal of $100 = $400 added onto your donator status (1:4 ratio), this is if you don't take any tokkens or items from your donation that is. Moral of the story, stop complaining that raids isn't broken for your $1-250 donator rank and do something about it! Before you say money doesn't come by from PvM.. I'll tell you that's a load of bollocks. I play my Elite Ironman 'Loo' and i've definitely received around 20-25b solely from PvM and have the screenshots to prove it.

Kind regards,

Loo.

#305755 3 Years of Alora!

Posted by Ultistic on 18 July 2019 - 09:08 AM

Hello everyone!

I've never really made these but I've seen a few of the staff members make them after 1 year of being on the team so I figured I would join them!

My journey here is a bit different than the others so sit back, grab some popcorn and take your socks off.

It all started nearly 5 years ago when I first met Omicron on his old server named "Impact". I was apart of a small community with 20-30 players online at a time. The number of players online didn't bother me at all, I enjoyed the server a ton and I fit right in with everyone. I originally applied for Server Support a month or 2 after playing and to my surprise I was accepted nearly instantly (first time being on a staff team on a RSPS). So this was all new to me and as I moved up in ranks to Forum Moderator, I finally had the chance to meet my dad. We clicked right away and the rest was history, literally. Shortly after becoming Forum Moderator and being in contact with Omicron for a few months, the server shut down sadly and Omicron went to the store and never came back =/.

Nearly a year had gone by and no word from him. So I moved on to Oldschool runescape and kept in contact with some of the other staff members on Impact at the time. A year or so goes by and he finally returned from the store and was very motivated to work on a new project with a few staff members from his old server. We started working on the project around July 18th of 2016 and the launch date for Alora was a few months later on November 4th, 2016.  A lot of time and effort went into that release and the results shocked EVERYONE. We had upwards of 200 players online on day 1! This was a huge change of pace for all of us since we were so used to having 20-30 players at a time online. Omicron trusted me with the Administrator rank for the server release (bad idea :pachaha:  ). Trust me, I made plenty of mistakes when we launched the server initially since I had never held such a high rank on a RSPS. But these mistakes turned me into a bald, old, overweight, decently good CM for Alora.

Jumping ahead to August 2017, I resigned from being an Administrator for a short period of time due to how the current Staff Team was being ran and I didn't agree with everything being done. I enjoyed the break very much but at the same time I hated not being involved with the community as I once was. So 3 months later I was re-promoted to Event Manager since I missed the community and interacting with them. So, I did events for a month or 2 and was later promoted back to Administrator in October after some things changed via the Staff team. Another month has gone by and the day finally came were I was promoted to Community Manager in November  of 2017.

Since that day I have put everything into the Community and the Staff Team. I have watched so MANY players join and leave the Staff Team since day 1. I have made and lost so MANY friends on this server, some of which I had the pleasure of meeting IRL. I am also proud to say that I am the last remaining "OG" staff members on the team along with Omicron.

Without the trust of Omicron since day 1 with the Administrator role, Current/Old Staff Team, and most importantly the community, I would not be in the position I'm in. So a HUGE thank you to everyone who has been here with me on this journey. Here's to another 3 years of being the #1 OSRS Private server!

P.S. - I could of went into a lot more detail with certain memories etc but I figured I would keep it somewhat short and easy to read for people like myself. I am also terrible at shouting out certain people so once again a big thank you to EVERYONE that has been here. ALSO My birthday is tomorrow (the 19th). I'm gonna need 14 Large Meat lovers pizzas and a new wig. <3

#305681 Mort Myre Fungus Guide

Posted by Doofy on 17 July 2019 - 08:19 PM

Mort Myre Fungus Guide

Here is a quick guide on how to get Mort Myre Fungus after the July 14th update!

Items needed:

  • Silver Sickle ( b )

The Silver Sickle ( b ) can be obtained from the Vote Manager located just south of the Edgeville home teleport spot for 200 Vote Points.

Here is what he looks like:

 b78ace1e408336fb0f139c3bd6e39c53.png 14a4abf7fe01c4cab5451b56cd208810.png

You can check how many vote points you have by going to your Game Panel and scrolling down:

e39b5b03ae0333fc46810c243b6d4799.png

Once you have obtained the Silver Sickle ( b ) you're almost ready to get Mort Myre fungus.

Not sure if there is a faster route but this is the route I take:

The fastest way to logs is just north of ::TOB

jbwAbuz.png

Take your Silver Sickle ( b ) over to any of the Rotting logs 95c0ded44c391e22c8507a2d0d6f74d0.png which can be commonly found within the red oval on the map above and either use the "Cast bloom" (when in your inventory) or "Bloom" (when equipped).

Tip: There are 4 logs that can grow Mort Myre fungus in a 1 tile radius which I have pictured below.

P7nepXh.png

Each cast of Bloom costs 6 prayer points and will yield 1 Fungus per log for normal players, 2 per log if you are an Extreme donator, and 3 per log if you are Uber or higher.

Thanks for checking out this short guide on how to get Mort Myre fungus, please let me know if I have missed anything!

#305693 Theatre of Blood Drop Rate Buff

Posted by God on 17 July 2019 - 10:17 PM

Well howdy Tauri! This reply was completely out of context, I doth enquire the ownership over messages leading to these conversations over the bonus events for tob. I personally think that tob bonuses don't have anything to do with the actual drop rate of tob and I mean I personally haven't seen them help much.

Where is his reply out of context when in the original post it quite literally says "

EDIT: IF YOU DECIDE TO VOTE NO PLEASE WRITE BELOW WHY YOU THINK THAT."

He voted no, So he stated his reason why. lol.

--

On the subject of "Bonuses don't have anything to do with the actual drop rate of tob"

If everybody feels this way, It's very simple for us to just not enable these bonuses anymore. They are in fact, "Bonuses", Not requirements. I saw two scythes pop up other day when the bonus was enabled, Weird coincidence I guess though lol.

Voted No as the drop rates match OSRS as @Omicron stated and that's the way it should be (and hopefully stays)

Rng is just that, Rng.

No thanks i would rather have my item grinds to be an actual grind instead of something imma complete in a week. Everyone is always complaining abkut loots because they have bad rng for a while. I myself have had a 200 raid drystreak and got b2b drops aswell so ye its just rng. Runescape is a grindy game and if ur not up for the grind u might be playing the wrong game.

I'd like to further add to my response before, that not everybody is going 100 dry, there are a few select people that are. Meanwhile @Paine is getting 3 drops in 30kc, and I got a 1kc drop very recently on this account. I think the theory behind the idea here is quite flawed, sorry.

#305516 Paine's Staff Feedback!

Posted by oijnmukfvrg on 17 July 2019 - 07:31 AM

Solid feedback thread.

You as a staff member definitely been killing it lately at least, when I was in the team just not too long ago and you seem to grown as a person keep it up brother and maybe the yellow rank will pick ya up.

#305469 Take Care of Yourself

Posted by Sassa fras on 16 July 2019 - 06:18 PM

As most of you know, I resigned from the staff team a couple of weeks ago. I'd been in a funk for the past month, even after taking a handful of week-long breaks to try to get my mind right. I was no longer able to bring to the table the qualities I've always prided myself on, so I felt that it was best that I leave the team. After quitting, I realized... that was the source of most of my enjoyment on Alora; without it, I really wasn't having enough fun to stick around. This isn't a knock against anyone or anything, it's a problem that I continually have – we're on my 3rd (or 4th?) farewell thread now.

Without being overly dramatic, I'm very happy to remember all the wonderful experiences I've had in the past two years on Alora. I initially wanted to @ a bunch of people in this post but as I thought about it more, there are just too many damn people that have had a positive impact on me; it'd take too long to list all of them.

I abhor ass-kissing, but I think almost every single member of the staff team that I've had to pleasure of working with has earned my respect with their work behind the scenes (except that rat fuck Fe China). Even though the current team is small, it's still as strong as ever. And although I've received help from everyone on the team, the following guys went above and beyond to guide me when I was struggling at various points on the ladder: @Mhk, @Paine, @To gain, @Immortal Fox, Kharyrll, Groot, Dante, king purple, @Fenrir (stop changing names), and most of all, @Mack.

Some might not like how I left the team, and that's alright. But I'm glad I finally applied back in November and was able to give back to the place that has given so much to me. I'm satisfied to see @Omicron and Chad pumping out QOL updates and reworks to existing content. I look forward to reading about them on the forums, and watching @Lowkey's entertaining stream. But other than that, I'm stepping away for good.

Take care of yourself, Alora.

Sass

#305421 Paine's Staff Feedback!

Posted by Paine on 16 July 2019 - 02:41 PM

Heya, everyone!

Decided to make a staff feedback for my nearly 10 month anniversary in the staff team. I’d also like to take this time to let you guys know that we’re looking for more server supports! You can do that via this link: https://www.alora.io...f-applications/. This is a feedback, which will help some change for the better hopefully. Without further ado, let’s get to it.

Omicron

One of the most respected and hard working people in Alora for sure. We really can’t appreciate the hard work and effort you put in Alora. You were always ready to help any staff member with whatever they need and we are grateful for having you. These weekly updates are awesome and I hope you keep them going. I’ll take the time to shoutout Chad as well, thank you for deciding to put time in Alora and helping Dan with the recent fire updates.

Lowkey

Dadkey, basically a father figure to everyone in the staff team (along side with some other people). You’re the most positive person in the staff team. You’ve always made us laugh and raised the morale up, but when time requires to be serious, I’ve seen you make awesome decisions and such. I honestly couldn’t see Alora be like this without you in the head of the staff team. I appreciate the hard work you do and I hope everything goes the way you wish :P.

king purple

Another father figure, although an event manager, I’ve seen you handle situations in professional ways and you’re definitely one of the best decision makers in Alora. Constant events for a year require a special commitment and dedication. You’ve helped me in other ways as well and I really can’t take the time to appreciate what you’ve done for me so far. <3

Hellish

Hellish (Like some others in this list) has been here since I joined the staff team. He’s probably the first person that I interacted with and at first he was strict about things but that has shaped me for the best. I can proudly say that he’s been one of the best friends in Alora and I can freely express my concerns to him. He’s been there for me multiple times and I’m trying to return that favor as well. Appreciate the fact you supported me from day 1, always being there for me and understading me/everyone in the staff team. You’re one of the best additions to this team.

Mack

For sure one of the best administrators Alora has ever seen. Really straight forward and always willing to help everyone with any issue they have. You also do a lot of background work which you’ve put countless hours into. I know this probably doesn’t mean a lot to you but you’ve definitely helped Alora in a different way which I really can’t thank you enough for. Please don’t change and I hope we get more Theatre of Blood drops together.

Groot

Alex, also a positive figure in our staff team, but on the other hand you’re always ready to make great decisions and assist anyone with their issues. I love reading the newspaper and I was glad I could make into one of your interviews. Thanks for also shaping me into the Paine we all know <3.

God

Hello, mentor. You were the first to show me the steps in the background work you do. I’ve reached you multiple times asking for help/advice and you’ve helped me every time. We really don't appreciate how you’ve helped Alora and I think it’s time for that to change. I’m still going to annoy you with PMs because there’s a lot for me to learn and I know you’re willing to help me. Thank you for everything.

Salter

Always willing to help everyone, always willing to help any staff members, overall a Dad figure. There’s no need for a 300 word essay to describe how good you are. My only wish is you’d stream more often but I understand how crowded your life is at the moment.

Fenrir

Draisaitl, Banks aka Nice dust. Not going to lie, when I first got assigned as a server support I was scared of you (this went for a while), but once you joined the staff team I got to know you better and I realized I was wrong. You’re a HUGE addition to this team and actually willing to assist me with anything I needed. I think we’ve become more close since you joined the staff team second time around and I’m grateful that you’re in the staff team, as you’re kind of a second mentor to me.

Mhk

Another person I can approach for anything, you along Mack have helped Alora in the background work. We have fun conversations in the DMs and you’re a great decision maker. I don’t really have any criticism but stop AGS specing me through tank thanks.

Kharyrll

I encouraged you to apply and my support was right. You made radical changes as a Forum/Global mod in private sections in the forums and very helpful during the graveyard times. Thanks for the hard work you’ve always done and never lost interest in being a good staff member!

Iron Champie

You’ve had a rough way up the ranks. I’m glad you realized your mistakes and improved on them. You’ve been doing great recently and I hope you do even better from now on.

IM Moe

MASSIVE shoutout to the work you’ve been putting in lately, we both know the road bumps you have at the moment and I’m proud that you acknowledge that. I appreciate if you worked in them and they’ll help you in the long term, besides this I’m happy with your performance.

Doofy

Really calm and always willing to put in work, you’re a good listener and I can’t wait until you show  your full potential. Not much to say besides this.

To gain

Really active since you joined the staff team again. You’ve instantly put in work but I wish you’d be less individualistic about everything and remember that we’re a team at the end of the day.

Fear7heduck

You’ve been busy lately and we all get busy from time to time. Once things get normal I wish for you to get more active with your mod duties. Everyone has a pool of knowledge in the team and everyone is willing to show it to you, so you should use that to your advantage. Besides that I think you do a decent job as a moderator.

Not Tauri

Could definitely say you’re the best server moderator in the team at the moment, you have experience and game knowledge, but what I said for Fear7heduck goes for you as well. The knowledge is there, just ask for it. I’m sure this will help you progress through the ranks. Besides that, good stuff.

Vape Tricks

You seem to be willing to put in work so I appreciate that. Sometimes you’re around some controversial decisions but we all make mistakes (I have as well) and we learn from them. Take your time to just focus before acting and you’ll do much better.

EIM Zarox

I’ve always had a doubt in you and thought you couldn’t pull through and for some time I was correct. You for sure had your highs and lows and were really busy with IRL. We know life sometimes gets stressful but once you’re free I’d like to see you put in a lot more effort than you already do. I understand what we do is voluntarily but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t do anything. I’ve seen you starting to pick the slack up recently and you’re making us proud. I believe you have potential but you’re only missing the motivation. Once you find it you’ll do much better than now for sure.

Noahtho

A good funny guy that does what he’s required to. Bit inactive since you’re busy IRL but that’ll get sorted out with time. Please stay away from suggesting anyone profile pictures, thanks.

Moral truth

Probably the best Server Support at the moment, you returned permanently in this position and we’re grateful to have you. You get “smack” for being a vegan but at the end of the day we’re just joking as we do with the rest of the staff team. Appreciate the positivity your bring in and I hope you never change. <3

Not Enzo

Recently joined the staff team but haven’t seen you quite in action so there’s no point in leaving a feedback just yet.

Morgen

Same deal as Not Enzo. You did a decent job in the staff team so I have hopes.

Thanks for reading my staff feedback! These 10 months-ish in the staff team have been amazing with a lot of highs and lows. They’ve made me appreciate who I am and made me a much better person. Instead of flaming them I hope you appreciate the work they do daily with no salary, but pure love for the community and the game. Without making this very long, any criticism towards me/this feedback is highly appreciated so feel free to reply it down below. Have a nice day!

I. Introduction and General Information

Introduction

Slayer is a skill that allows players to kill monsters that may otherwise be immune to damage. Players must visit a Slayer master, who will assign them a task to kill certain monsters based on the player's Combat level. Slayer experience is roughly equal to a slain monster's hitpoints and is awarded each time the player kills an assigned monster.

General

  • Slayer tasks can be skipped or blocked to keep your slayer task streak at a cost of Slayer points. It costs 100 points to block a slayer task and the cost to skip depends on your donor rank.
    • Non-Donator & Regular Donator - 30 points
    • Super & Extreme Donator - 25 Points
    • Legendary & Uber Donator - 25 Points for Easy/Medium tasks & 20 Points for Hard/Konar tasks
    • Master & Immortal Donator - 20 Points for Easy/Medium tasks & 15 Points for Hard/Konar tasks
    • Wilderness Tasks cost 12 points to skip
  • Super Donators+ may also skip their task for free but this will reset their slayer task streak to 0
  • Players will receive large slayer point bonuses for completing every 10, 25, 50, 100 and 250 tasks
  • The Slayer Helmet can be created by using a Black Mask on a Spiny Helmet from the Slayer Shop. Imbuing the slayer helmet with an imbuement scroll allows the damage bonus to work for magic and ranged combat styles. (16.67% damage bonus for melee, and 15% bonus for ranged and magic)
  • Players can enable Duo-Slayer by using an enchanted gem to send a request to another player. Players of any mode can partner together. Players wishing to start a duo-slayer task must cancel their current task before pairing. Players must remove their duo-slayer partner via the enchanted gem to obtain a slayer task without the set partner.
    • Duo-slayer gives a 10% increase in points from slayer tasks and increases the speed of tasks
    • Players whose partner tries to use the free skip will now be prompted if they wish to accept the free skip, however their task streak will also be reset if the task is skipped.
      • If a player chooses to not accept this, they will keep their current task and be split from their partner.
    • Players can no longer partner up with another player if:
      • Their slayer level difference is higher than 10 levels.
      • Their combat level difference is higher than 10 levels.
  • Many lower-level monster tasks can be assigned that allow players to camp bosses for longer durations. Such as Black Demons for Demonic Gorillas, Hellhounds for Cerberus, Abyssal Demons for Abyssal Sire, Dagannoths for Dagannoth Kings and many more.
  • A ring of wealth or ring of wealth(i) can be worn to increase the chance to hit the rare drop table, obtain caskets, ensouled heads and Barrows items. Specific details on the rings can be found here.
  • You can view the number of monsters remaining on your task in your quest tab as well as any monster drop tables.
  • Vote books can now be used to obtain a 15% bonus to Slayer points
  • Completing the Morytania Achievement Diaries gives a percentage bonus to slayer points earned from tasks done in the Slayer Tower. 5% for Easy Diaries, 7.5% for Medium Diaries, 10% for Hard Diaries and 15% for the Elite Diaries.
  • Completing the Kourend Hard Diaries gives a 10% bonus to slayer points from Konar tasks.
  • These boosts are additive in their calculation. Meaning 1.0 + .15 for Vote bonus + .15 for a task done in the Slayer Tower with the Elite Diary completed would yield 1.3x the slayer points.
