TORMENTED DEMONS GUIDE
Please note that Tormented Demons count as Greater Demons and you should ideally kill them on a Greater Demon slayer task.
GEAR SUGGESTIONS:
This is slightly more budget, and my personal set up for my Ironman (with inventory adjusted for more food for learners).
This is the inventory I use. This is for people who understand the mechanics and can reliably kill Tormented Demon's without taking damage over sustained periods of time.
I would not suggest using Magic here. It's slow attack speed in comparison to Ranged and Melee make it slower and less efficient, plus the cost of runes will add up over time.
GETTING THERE: Tormented Demons will use all three attack styles. They will only ever use Ranged at the start, then switch between Magic and Melee after. They will change their attack style after their special attack. They will bind you in place, simply step one tile to the side and continue fighting, changing your protection prayer afterwards. There is a large window to change your prayer as the next attack is delayed. You will see this message in your chatbox when the spell is cast.
If you do not have these, you can teleport to Tears of Guthix (Teleport Wizard > Minigames > Tears of Guthix). Once there, run to the North West and climb the rock. Transport with the light creature to the Tormented Demons cave. Run slightly south and you will enter the cave. The below map shows where the demons are, and how many there are at each location.
HOW TO FIGHT:
Example: Demon spawns with Protect from Magic. You deal 150 Melee Damage. It will now protect Melee. You now have to use Magic or Ranged to deal another 150 damage, before switching back to Melee.
This is something that not many people know about Tormented Demons, however can really make a difference to the speed of your slayer task or increasing your kills per hour!
Tormented Demons have a unique modifier to incoming hits. Your first hit at the start of each kill AND your first hit after it casts it's special attack are both increased by a set damage modifier depending on your weapon speed. The chart below shows the modifier:
As you can see, on these hits, you want to use your slowest weapon. On protect from Range, you will use Dharok's Greataxe (on Crush) or your Heavy Ballista (With dragon Javelins set to accurate) on Protect from Melee. This hit will ALWAYS add +33 to your hit, even if you hit a 0. After this, you will switch back to your Emberlight or Scorching bow accordingly.
