Update the Alora store

How would this benefit Alora?:

Currently, the store is outdated and the prices don't make much sense for 2024

 

10 tokens = 1 raid boosters = 10 m 

12 tokens = 1 gauntlet booster = 12 m

15 tokens = 1 drop booster = 15 m

 

In other words, tokens are essentially valued at 1m each.

 

 

 

Example of outdated stuff

1500 tokens for god boss pet (1.5b)

750 tokens for skotizo pet (750m)

600 tokens for dragon warhammer (600m)

75 tokens for guthans set (75m)

50 tokens for 250 anglers (50m)

45 tokens for whip (45m)

30 tokens for 50 super combat potion (30m)

 

Brainstorming New Ideas

 

barrows sets (old) -> perilous moons sets (new)

coal / gem bags (old) -> gold bags (new)

 

godswords (old) -> tob items (new)

they're available through ultimate mystery boxes anyways

 

dragon defender (old) -> avernic defender (new)

 

armadyl crossbow (old) -> saradomin crossbow (new)

250 tokens for acb, doesn't make sense 

 

add holiday item cosmetics (like spirit trees transmogs)

 

add colosseum training tickets

you spent all that time coding colosseum to be like OSRS -> might as well let RSPS players pay to practice on it (before official private servers are added to OSRS)

 

add ring of the elements -> teleports near elemental altars

 

add eternal teleport crystals

might as well profit by selling crystal shards 

 

add GIM tbows 3,000 tokens / GIM scythes 4,000 tokens / GIM shadows 5,000 tokens - players are going to buy/sell GIM banks anyways, money should go to the server

No support selling gim items in store is just a dumb idea. Might aswell add realism gp then.

Ring of the elements is a reward from GotR - it's a niche item and keep it there only to keep the minigame "relevant" even though not useful since dark wizard

Heck, why not just add moons? along with Hoeycoatl and the rest of Varlamore 2.

But since none of that is in the shop... it sounds like you're comparing apples to oranges here.

 

Either way, that was really more of a joke 

Might as well add HCIM lives to the Alora store while we're at it.

Support - some things need polished up on as time goes on so they aren't so out of place like some of the current things in store.

So much support for this.

At this time the only thing store is useful for is essentially buying rank & buying your way to in-game money. Customs/Rank tickets are what dominate the store.

There is nothing of interest in there as a veteran player with Eternal Donor. For the most part the store is only useful to me if I make a new Ironman (Rune Pouch, Farmer's Blessing, etc.)

Seeing a newly updated store would actually interest me in donating for some tokens for some new interesting items. I know @ Variant would love new things to buy.

Huge support for a store revamp, i haven't looked at the numbers for this specific suggestion, but we should at the very least remove the items that seem like a 'scam' such as beekeepers outfit that is given for free doing random events in game, it should NOT be in the store for 1k tokens.

Definitely re-make the store, or even why not do packs? For example, you buy 10 boosters and get 1 free in IRL Events like Christmas, Easter, and maybe even Country's Day, and in the end, people will still spend even much more money in the store than right now.

Hey man, if you can buy GIM bank from a player, why shouldnt you be able to buy GIM bank from the server?

At least this way your $money$ goes straight to benefiting the server, rather than to benefiting the dude selling ironman banks.

Frankly, I think it defeats the purpose of playing ironman, if you allow ironman players to buy and sell items.  

 

Ex: buy a GIM tbow

 

profit to the ironmen seller: price of GIM tbow (couple bil) 

profit to the server: price of GIM removal ticket (250 tokens ~ 250m)

 

ironman seller gets 90% of profit

server gets 10% of profit

 

That's almost as low as the trading post tax... 

 

What's my point?  Cut out the middle man. 

If the server is going to allow people to cheat through ironman gamemodes by buying items, the server should be doing most of the profiting. 

Not the ironman players.
