What is your suggestion?: Adjust the chance to upgrade emblems in inventory during Wilderness Slayer tasks.

Is this in OSRS?: No, I believe OSRS has moved emblems to new BH

Has this suggestion been accepted already?: No, after searching this topic hasn't been accepted before

How would this benefit Alora?: This would make risking emblems during PVM more rewarding & bring more playersinto revitalizing the Wilderness.

As of the 7/27/2019 update, players killing NPC’s on a wilderness task with a combat level of 50 or higher will now have a small chance to upgrade the highest tier emblem in their inventory. 

  • Players who have tier 10 emblems in their inventory will not lose it, but instead be granted an extra tier 8 emblem.
  • The higher level the NPC, and the deeper the player is in the wilderness will both factor into the emblem upgrade rate.

This is a really cool mechanic, but after trying about 40+ wilderness tasks (easily over 2500 NPCs killed), my emblem has yet to upgrade even once. Items in the PKP shop aren't overpowered so the option to gain PKP through this method would make Wildy Slayer a much more appealing option, while also providing more chances for Pk'ers to hunt PvM'ers in this never ending game of cat and mouse. 

The risk vs reward at the moment is just not worth it, there's very little reason to risk an emblem for a chance of upgrade seeing how after 2.5k on task kills hasn't upgraded my emblem even once. Perhaps make emblem upgrade chances similar to that of Laran key drops (scales on HP/LvL, with heightened odds when you encounter superior monsters in the wildy) (but I think there's already another formula for the current emblem upgrade chance, so maybe it might be easier just to tweak that)

In conclusion, the current chance to upgrade emblems in invetory during Wilderness Slayer tasks seems absurdly low, increasing these odds will not only encourage people to risk bringing their higher tier emblems, but draw more player traffic towards the Wilderness which provides Pkers with more action as well. This mechanic is very unique and super awesome, but I wish it felt more impactful to players who chose to grind this content.

With more PvM'ers due to wildy slayer being viable pkp/supply-wise, more people will be doing slayer in wilderness, which incentivizes newer/unskilled pkers to take to the Wild at a chance to kill PvM'ers for a bit of loot (99% of wildy pks are on people risking so little that you don't even get BH target kill credit). With more pkers (both lower skilled and skilled) preying on PvM'ers, the PvP population that enjoys fighting people who are capable of actually fighting back will have a much larger pool of potential targets, creating an enticing ecosystem of slaughter for all players to enjoy.

ATM wildy is only active by Edgeville ditch, and like every 8th wildy supply chest would lead to a brief fight, and similarly with Skotizo spawning. 

In fact, I feel like the BH shop is a bit outdated as Alora has become much more Ironman-centric since I've joined back in 2019. The ability to enchant your rings with PKP felt like a huge step in the right direction to incentivize wildy pking/skotizo farming, but the shop seemed to lag behind with that idea in mind.

I can't claim I know enough about the ironman life cycle to provide confident suggestions on what should be changed/added to the BH shop, but what I can say confidently is that the Wildy slayer emblem upgrade rebalancing+bh shop changes would bring a surge of player traffic to the wildy, and a great way of putting Alora on the map as not only the best Ironman-centric Rsps but also an amazing PvP rsps as well.

It's probably good to mention that Redcar's (rip not sure what he was banned for) suggestion for 4 dose sanfew serums and such to be added to BH shop would be very popular amongst ironmen. Perhaps add indirect supply items like seeds/seed packs/gem bags to help make BH shop more ironman friendly.
