*TLDR
- You should make 1m cash + [whatever the person you killed was risking] per PK if you're a total noob to PvP content
- You can make up to 10m cash + [whatever the person you killed was risking] per PK if you strategize well, even if you killed a poor defenseless black chinchompa farmer for his 30 chins

I'm making this post as an update to this 2017 guide, to discuss how profitable/non profitable (you make up your own mind) PvP can be in 2024.
In this topic, we will go through an analysis of how PkP works and how profitable it is to kill PVMers with close to no risk. We will also briefly cover NHing, ditch fighting and multi luring.
1. HOW PKP WORKS
There are 2 ways in which you can earn PKP on this server.
The first is awarded for PKing someone with a minimum amount of risk (usually around 50k-100k), while risking a minimum amount yourself (around 50k-10k). The amount of PKP you get for killing another player depends on 4 factors.
- The killstreak # that you are on (the killstreak bonus starts at 5, and goes up linearly with each increasing kill
- The killstreak # of the person you killed
- If any PKP server bonus are on (usually turned on most weekends)
- If your kill happened in a wilderness hot zone (changes every couple of hours)
As a fresh account with no killstreak/server bonus, killing someone will usually yield 100-150 PKP :
As you get a higher killstreak, you will earn more PKP per kill :
Here's how much PKP you can expect to get with 400+ killstreak with weekend PKP server bonus on :
The second way is by turning archaic emblems in. Archaic emblems are tier'd 1-10, and give an increasing amount of PKP depending on tier. Here's the breakdown :
Tier 1 156k GP 76 PKP
Tier 2 260k GP 120 PKP
Tier 3 416k GP 192 PKP
Tier 4 624k GP 288 PKP
Tier 5 1.04m GP 420 PKP
Tier 6 1.82m GP 619 PKP
Tier 7 3.12m GP 846 PKP
Tier 8 4.68m GP 1382 PKP
Tier 9 7.28m GP 2304 PKP
Tier 10 10.4m GP 3072 PKP
*Numbers stolen from @
* It is worth noting that these numbers are for normal accounts and ironmen, group ironmen/elite ironmen/realism get half the amount of GP and the same amount of PKP
My advice is to only hand in tier 1-3 emblems, and to upgrade the other emblems all the way up to tier 10 before handing them in. You can obtain tier 1 emblems from killing other players/your Bounty Hunter target/wilderness slayer task monsters, tier 2-6 emblems can be obtained from killing wilderness world Skotizo and tier 1-10 emblems can be obtained from bloody chests. Alternatively, you can buy emblems from the trading post/other players.
You can upgrade the emblems in your inventory by killing another player as long as your kill is eligible for PKP, or by killing wilderness Skotizo while dealing top damage.
2. SHAMELESSLY KILLING DEFENSELESS PVMERS
It's no secret that PvP content has been close to inexistent for years on Alora. This being said, the wilderness remains very profitable for PVMers and skillers alike. You can pretty consistently find people in the revenant caves, at the wilderness bosses, the mage arena, slayer caves, ressource area, shooting star spawns, etc... to name a few.
Most of your loot will look like something like this (complete trash) :
Occasionally, you will get someone with a decent amount of risk :
So, the question I get asked often is, how do I make money by killing people that risk not much more than 100k GP? The answer is by earning PKP and upgrading an emblem all the way to tier 10, then selling the emblem and buying items off the PKP shop.
*Realism PKP shop cost 30% more, and some items are not available
I will not go in depth into what items you should buy with your PKP, as prices for different items are often fluctuating. As a general rule, you can expect to get around 5k-10k GP per PKP if you buy the items worth most at the current market price.
So let's break down how much money you are expected to earn (from PKP alone, disregarding loot) :
With a complete fresh account without an emblem in inventory (total noob pker) ----- 100 PKP = 500k-1m GP per kill
With an account without killstreak, with the intention of upgrading a tier 1 emblem all the way to tier 10 ----- 100 PKP + emblem upgrade = 500k-1m GP + emblem upgrade per kill
With an account without killstreak, having successfully upgraded a tier 1 emblem all the way to tier 10 (9 kills) ----- 100 PKP + (3072 PKP/9) + (10.4m cash/9) = 3.36m - 5.57m GP per kill
...
I will share my strategy and how much money I earn on average per kill : I try to farm tier 6 emblems from Skotizo (this activity is usually dominated by clans during peak time, but you can usually find it empty/safe from pkers during server down times). I upgrade these tier 6 emblems to tier 10 (only 4 kills required). I make a dedicated account for PKing only so that I can maintain a killstreak. The problem with PKing on your main account is, once you have a killstreak going, you will find it difficult to do casual wilderness activities such as wildy agility or clue scrolls, because you will be so scared of dying and losing your killstreak.
With an account with 400+ killstreak, pking on weekends bonus, upgrading a tier 6 to tier 10 (4 kills) ----- 800 PKP + (3072/4) + (10.4m/4) = 10,4m - 18.3m GP per kill.
18.3m for killing someone risking 100k, not bad!
3. NH AND DITCH FIGHTING
There is a small community of players engaging in these activities, but you can usually find fights if you look for them through yell or at edge bank.
You will also almost always find people in NH gear at wilderness supply chest (which spawn approx. every hour), although some people are just there to try to loot the chest and dip.
For max NH, you're expected to make around 100m-300m per kill, although you will probably be risking the same amount yourself
For ditch fighting, you're expected to make between 50m-100m per kill, while risking the same amount
4. MULTI LURING
*Disclaimer : make sure you follow the #rules for luring, as it might result in a ban if done incorrectly
Luring has always been a big part of runescape PvP and can be done similarly on Alora. I will not into the details of luring strategies, but all you need is 2-3 friends with barrage and spec weapons, sit in a multi-combat area, and wait for PKers to take the bait. People don't always fall for it, but when they do, the rewards are usually massive.
5. FINAL THOUGHTS ON ALORA PKING in 2024
Despite the very low level of PvP activity on Alora, it remains a profitable activity.
As the skill gap for someone starting to PvP can be quite high, I would suggest for anyone trying to learn to join a clan, and share your experience among teammates.
As for requirements, all it takes is some mystic robes, a few barrage runes and a DDS and you're ready to go!
Here are a few budget setups for anyone interested to begin their PvP journey :
Always remember to protect yourself at all times and to trust no one in the wilderness.
