Stop the buying & selling of GIM banks

How would this benefit Alora?:

Currently, GIM quit -> sell their banks -> wealthy players buy up their banks -> compromises the integrity of the game

 

Group ironman was not intended to be a bank trading game.

 

It was about playing ironman (DIY style - without trading) with a small group of friends.

I support this fully I've always thought it was so bizzare. Completely defeats the purpose, it's not even a true ironman mode.

It's an MMORPG for a reason. Let people choose their own paths. If someone wants to play an Ironman and pay extra just to get GIM items - let them be.

As stated above, damage has already been done regardless.

 

No game mode makes someone better than the next anyway. Just let people have their own fun.

Joking aside, I support this. I personally don't understand the appeal of  buying gim/elite banks. It completely defeats the purpose of the game mode. Just my opinion tho. People can do whatever they wanna do, just seems corny to me

No support on this one. As someone who doesn't encourage buying/selling GIM or EIM items, I don't mind someone else doing so. Also, the process of buying GIM items is not that very simple with restrictions and cooldowns when you join/leave group etc.

Relatively speaking, the process of buying GIM/EIM is a heck of a lot easier than grinding out endgame gear.  

 

Not to mention... Selling GIM/EIM (for an endgame player quitting) is even easier.

Just consolidate your groups items into 1 account, find some rich dude, then have the buyer supply the costs of transfer.

 

Take a second and think about it.  What's to stop players from playing GIM/EIM then cashing out their banks when they quit?  If they cashed out their banks on Normie eco, there'd be no problem. 

 

Instead, you see them yelling and posting on forums & discord, "Selling GIM bank!" which further undermines ironman integrity. 

 

To put it simply, ironman game modes were not intended to be for buying/selling banks.

I think it's hilarious people think it's just a game mechanic or something that you can literally buy/sell items as an IRONMAN. Never made sense, still doesn't make sense. "let people play how they want" is such a braindead thing to say when there are multiple game modes with player ecos; why is it okay "because the damage is done"?

Yeah it's too late because when you were staff, you abused the heck out of buying/selling gim banks.  

Rather than try to fix it, you let it go on and on. 

 

Now, when other people are trying to fix it.  You pull the "too late for that" excuse.  Classic.

I'm pretty confused what Realism has to do with buying/selling IRONMAN items? You are also referring to a particular individual/two people who abuse realism eco to charge big amounts for highly desired items. Which again has literally nothing to do with what this forum post was made for. Do you really dislike Alan that much or what cause your reply just doesn't make sense.

Shouldn't really care what other players are doing as this doesn't affect your account directly.

However I'd be happy to support this as long as it's equal among all game modes, including selling realism items for normal gp.

100%. Realism market is seriously broken and unviable for any newcomers. A merge would settle the economy on both sides.
In addition, exchange of realism:normie GP should also be banned if they ban GIM item selling.

People are so adamant on realism being a separate economy but will happily purchase GP using normie GP.

Imagine playing a game mode that forces you to grind items separately from the normal mode however you use normal mode GP to buy items for the separate game mode…. Sounds familiar no?

Brother, you don't seem to understand that Realism is not ironman.  We allow trading on Realism.  

Therefor swapping between normal and realism mode is allowed, just like swapping between OSRS and DMM.

(Full support) Realism isn’t Ironman it’s same as normie with lower exp rates for longer skill grinding.
Ironman isn’t realism Ironman you can’t trade, you get the perks of enjoying the game for it self and grinding everything legit and enjoying the journey it gives. You won’t get that experience if you buy your way to the end.

Not changing it because the damage is already done is basically to keep it fair. Unless they go back and hand out swamp helmets lol
