Full server reset with donator ranks and usernames kept for players up to date of reset but a fresh account. Or a second world to log in to but that might end up killing 1 world and you end up with 2 servers. Idk its hard for the eco on here to be stable and fast selling as osrs because it just doesnt have enough players to balance it out. I don't think there is a way to fix eco on here. You basicly are stuck selling the items overtime and cleaning some player who bought bonds and bought the gear you end up not being able to sell and he quits. Must be the curse of being eco on here i guess.

IMO any type of eco reset would be the nail in the coffin for the server. Unless Omicron is wanting to restart his server from scratch I don't think this is the right call, I may be wrong, but I know I wouldn't continue if everything I have was just wiped rather than finding a solution that isn't this dramatic.

I’d say an eco reset would easily lose half if not more of the player base. Majority of people have donated in some form for items etc that would be lost, would leave a huge sour taste in many mouths, mine included see big chunks of irl money wasted.

We need a solid item and gp sink, not a full eco reset and this suggestion is a great starting point and needs to be built on and discussed regularly till a solution can be found.

One of the huge problems normie alora economy has is that the items in it are hyper inflated by ironmen.

Lets be honest alora is mainly an ironman server. Most people play an ironman or a variant of it. On osrs it isnt that big of a deal cus most ironmen dont even drop all their dupes into the economy. As you only need some gp for 2 bonds a month. While on alora it is super beneficial to drop every dupe and buy boosters/vote books/customs/bonds and so on.

Also alot of endgame items keep getting cycled in into the game while gp itself doesnt cycle into the economy which is a huge problem long term. Wont go into detail on how it happens but ye. Im fairly certain that is atleast half the problem for the real endgame items.

Also when @Polton / @Codex1 aka econgods were around they single handedly kept economy in check as they actually cared for a stable economy, while most recent econ holders since havent had the same restraint with dumping mass items at once. And i hate to be that guy, but it doesnt help that current econ players rather flaunt the amount of items they have by selling all at once, rather than holding on to them and slowly releasing them into the economy.

And finally there is a HUGE problem with gp in normie econ, there is way too many items in the game for the amount of pure gp comming into the economy. Revs is suicide with current bounty hunter system which is a great way to bring gp in econ. And once again, way too much items gets dumped into the normie econ, and there is too few gp/people that care about stabilising the econ.

tl:dr

Only way you can stabilise normie econ at this point is by doing something super drastic like staff/omicron buying stuff out for pure gp.

Or making well of goodwill need 500m to be active, but for every 10m people dump into it they get a "Key of sacrifice" which gives like Brimstone/larran key type of supply drop with a good chance of giving brews/restores. So maybe ironmen will be more incenticived to dump their bandos shit in there for supplies rather than dumping it in normie eco to sit in tp for 2 weeks till it sells. It would require an update to the item values so prayer scrolls dont give 130m, or pvp gear giving hyper inflated well values.

And make a way for game to track what people give to well. Make a highscore for that shit. We got enough people that want to flex their wealth. Fixing the item value for items and then making a highscores. Would be fkn great. People would be rinsing all kinds of shit for highscores.

I’ll only respond to this since I’m assuming you’re talking about me. As I’ve said before I don’t see why you think it’s a players responsibility to fix the games economy, i made the gp through gambling a very small group of players, not cleaning players left and right to make them quit. You’re assuming I’m mass dumping items when I’m no where near selling off everything I could if I wanted to. If having a stable game eco relies on a single player to manipulate it, because let’s be honest what you’re asking me to do is manipulate the market, then we have a problem with the game not the player. I’m not sorry for me being happy about my in game items, and if it hurts your feelings enough into thinking I’m flaunting it than that speaks more to your own insecurities. Not trying to derail the topic of too many items in the game since the majority of votes clearly see it’s an issue, but please keep your hands out of my pocket. This was clearly an issue before I was eco and no amount of work a single player does will keep a more permanent fix to the game.

At the risk of sounding arrogant this update wouldn’t effect me if it happened or not in the slightest, I have enough to be fine as I am for as long as I want, I’m solely suggesting this to make other players gaming experience more enjoyable. If I went ahead and just as an example bought every scythe at the current 2-3b price tag and told everyone that I’ll now hoard them all and only sell for a minimum of 6b thatd imo be scummy. I’m not a marcher clearly and I don’t plan on using the gp I have to manipulate the market in either direction.

that is exactly my point. i don't think anything can fix this. so thats why i said you are basicly stuck with the ''curse'' of being eco meaning you got so much items but there is just not enough players to sell your items to.

Agree with what @Ivy said, don't let the staff control the Eco, but an alternative is very needed, god knows how they'll do that?

We've already decided that a system like this will be added into the game, but it won't be a system that trusts members to pick items on their own. The idea we're currently toying with involves collecting gp from the TP tax and gp donated to the well and using it to buy items from the same item list OSRS uses, and this would be done automatically.

Automated and not trusted is 100% better, just didn't know if that was possible on here, but glad to hear it is. What about the tax from the lottery?

That is great to hear. I’d also say lower the tax reimbursement if your item sells while online from 50% to 25% to take a little extra GP out of circulation and put towards this new system.

We still want to make sure gp is being removed from the game so we don't want to use all the gp sinks, but it's one of the primary reasons we increased the well price, so that we can use that gp to remove more items.
