What is your suggestion?: W2 Fresh Start World

Is this in OSRS?: Yes

Has this suggestion been accepted already?: No it hasn't or not that i've seen

How would this benefit Alora?: I think this would only be beneficial to Alora. It's an attempt to give new players of today the same type of beginning us OG's who started back in 2017 or even players within the last year have had. It's a blank slate with the hoped intent to allow all new/recent players an easier integration to what Alora is today by removing the overwhelming amount of items that are dumped into the economy. I think Alora is in a weird state right now where its " Iron-Scape " mostly all those who play play some type of Iron man as a main, And those who play on a Normie account whether it be Normal game mode or Classic game mode when items are received from a boss it takes extremely long (days) to sell items. All in all I just personally feel like a Fresh start world would be an amazing way to bring back Old players and a lot of new players back into the game with how much great content this server has to give.

If this Poll/Thread gets more positive attention than negative, Omicron or a Staff member could possibly come out with another Poll with questions of what should be added to Fresh Start World such as carrying over donator Ranks, How long Fresh Start World will go on for before merged into main game (if at all), Ect. to really get the current player base's Thoughts of do's and don'ts.

It's a blank slate with the hoped intent to allow all new/recent players an easier integration to what Alora is today by removing the overwhelming amount of items that are dumped into the economy.

Doesn't this make it harder for new players and simply makes the game more iron-scape for the first few days/weeks? The economy right now allows players to get into end game content with relative ease.

I doubt this is something Omicron would want to do as it would divide the community into two worlds and it would take a lot more effort to maintain both worlds, but if it was to go ahead, there would have to be a pretty big overhaul of cash/item sources or else you'd just have a less active Alora with less players.

I'm neutral.

I'll remain neutral for now on this one.

I do get where you're coming from in regards to most of the player-base being end-game ironmen/normie players bankstanding and waiting for TP exchanges to complete, and it taking ages to sell items due to oversaturation of the market and the period of time that the server has been out for now.

I also agree that a "fresh start" would likely bring a large influx of new players if advertised correctly, and give that competitive, addicting new-server feeling that we had back in 2016-2018.

However, I feel like a second world would do too much damage to the community that we've garnered up until this point, and would probably depopulate the current world that we have.

Other things we could consider instead of adding a "fresh start" world:

- More frequent Leagues competitions

- More item sinks to reduce market saturation of items

EDIT:

Thought a little more about this and I don't think that this would split the community as much as I initially thought it would. Especially if yell and global drop broadcasts aren't split, I think we could achieve some kind of continuity between the two worlds (and of course players could PM and talk in CCs between worlds).

Also, in regards to the depopulation of the current world, I think a lot of players would simply keep playing as to not lose their progress, and that the amount of new players joining and playing on W2 would likely far outweight the number of players leaving W1, leading to increased activity overall.

I'm going to support this idea, however personally I would prefer to just see a full-on eco reset and a re-release of the server as Alora 2.

Neutral. To kind of echo what Monaco said, think more league events would be better. Think once you start splitting a on average 350-400 person online player base into two worlds, the sever feels very very empty

I worry this would just split the player base and leave both worlds looking a bit dead, however, if this were advertised correctly and brought in a new influx of players which would later merge into the main game, I could get behind this. So I will remain neutral

I don't think you'd have a less active alora honestly. I could see this actually making more people want to play alora again and bring friends along with them. I support this 100%. Eco wipe would be absolutely tragic and this is a way to get around that. There should be a yell chat for the current world, and a yell chat that is shared between worlds so that the community isnt actually split.

Doesn't this make it harder for new players and simply makes the game more iron-scape for the first few days/weeks? The economy right now allows players to get into end game content with relative ease.

I think more incentives or a system to 'burn' items would be more beneficial, not only cost wise but also when you consider splitting the community. Not saying I'm totally against it, but I honestly think a second permanent world could be used for far better things rather than a fresh clone of what we already have. It seems pointless to just add a fresh world without having a long-term solution to prevent it from getting to the point we've already reached and for that reason alone my vote would be no.

The long term solution would be a cycle of fresh start. When the fresh start world eco becomes stale like the current world you merge worlds (this will not crash eco on main world because those items would have been obtained by players on the current world anyways if the new world didnt exist..) and then start a new fresh world. Think of it like a "seasonal" world. Start over, play for X amount of months push highscores (keep highscores on forums or something ex: Season 1: and show top 100 players or something...) then get merged with normal world and then season 2 starts.

In my eyes that just compounds the problem. At that point the 'main game' becomes more of a standby or just a show of what a collection/cash stack you've earned because the problem still hasn't been dealt with. That's where my concern of splitting the community lies. You can't just keep throwing more and more into the game regardless of where it comes from and expect it to not have some effect without having a solution to prevent it from happening in the first place. The problem is created by not having enough items completely leaving the game and/or not having the volume of people needed to keep the demand at a reasonable level. Don't get me wrong, I still think a fresh start world could be a blast, but it's got to be done right and any effects that it would have on the main game seriously need to be looked at in detail. Without some kind of a change it's just going to get worse.

If it's going to be merged it doesn't matter what world they got it on, it still comes into the main game world, yeah it might not crash the economy right away, but how in any way does that solve the problem that got the server to this point in the first place? It doesn't because it was never actually taken care of, just kind of pushed under the rug. Again, even something like a 'seasonal' fresh start could be a blast! But with a 'merge' it still doesn't solve the problem that we have on the main game and only goes further to devalue the items that already exist on the main game.

I edited this out because I decided that a new world isnt the move just like you said in here. Check out what my suggestion is, i started a new thread for it so omicron could actually see it and it not get lost in the comments.

https://www.alora.io...nal-game-modes/

As for the problem that already exists in the game right now for normie eco. the only way to fix it is a eco reset which NO ONE wants. as for further devalue of items that already exist again, regardless of what game mode someone obtains items on if they dont want it or need it, they gonna drop to a normie account and sell it. So at that point do we just stop drop trading from ironmen to normies?

In my eyes that just compounds the problem. At that point the 'main game' becomes more of a standby or just a show of what a collection/cash stack you've earned because the problem still hasn't been dealt with. I thought about the FSW concept a few days ago before my bedtime (yes im weird so what).

I would love to give it a shot and get the 2016 vibes once again, when Alora was starting up, and I thought about how would it be made so people won't become eco holders because of skill/game knowledge/donating.

1) Limit the FSW to Normie/Iron/UIM/HCIM, as it was in early 2017. All those gamemodes would not make sense in a FSW, so limiting the world to certain groups would entighten the economy, even though if most of the people decide to go for Ironman gamemode, which I'd doubt since every player has an already developed account on the main game and to grind less in order to burn out, normie would be a nice option.

2) Make Extreme Donator/Legendary Donator the maximum donor rank initially. First of all, no rank transfers from main world would not be allowed. So if people want any incentives that donator rank has to offer, they would need to donate again, making people judge whether do they actually need the highest possible donator rank in the early stages of the game mode.

3) Make ;;yell work across two worlds, where FSW players would have a tag in front of them, that would not divide the community entirely, as the Clan Chats should be meant to work in other worlds, as they are in OSRS. Considering majority of the communication nowadays goes over yell, making the 2 world yell would be quite handy, if necessary, could increase the cooldowns between yelling.

4) Time-lock the content and open them gradually. So that would mean that not all of the game is unlocked since the first minute, the concept would be:

Day 1: Wintertodt, PC, Tithe Farm and other minigames unlock.

Day 2: Revenant Cave & Barrows unlocks (making wildy alive as people have time to grind out their stats.)

Day 3: Unlock Vorkath, Gauntlet, Zulrah, Kraken, Cerb and other bosses.

Day 4: Unlock Chambers of Xeric

Day 6: Unlock Theatre of Blood

Day 7: Unlock Tombs of Amascut

5) Make it a temporary game mode initially. If it succeeds, proceed with the vote in order to keep it permanent. Make it a 6 month experience initially and if it wont die off and have decent amount of players playing on a daily basis, could vote for whether the gamemode will stay or be replaced with something else. Replacing means, that the accounts would be merged with the main game.

My five ideas about the game mode, idk if people would like it or not, but at the end of the day it comes down to Omicron whether he wants to experiment with that or not.

Great concept, but frankly enough the playerbase isn't big enough, so it would be pretty much dead within a month or two, so pretty much would be waste of development.

I think a money/item sink would be better than than a Fresh World, or a second world, it will divide the playerbase in half. People will eventually switch to either as "main" world/account.
