What is your suggestion?: 1. Make NPC health scale properly by number of players in the raid

2. Add a "Challenge Mode" option

3. Change Olm's attack method to match OSRS

How would this benefit Alora?:

1. On Alora solo CoX is the meta, which is fine, however group CoX isn't really a viable method for getting consistent drops as you almost always end the raid with few pts due to the nature of the scaling. It's fun to do group/mass CoX for a lot of people, however for most it doesn't really make sense to do it regularly on Alora as the health of NPC's doesn't scale much, leaving you with much fewer pts than you would have in a solo. Would encourage more players to do group CoX/make CoX more fun.

2. This would just be a fun option similar to HM for ToB. Main difference is each raid contains every room, and boss HP is increased by 50%. Would need to give a significant drop rate boost depending on how much weighting the pts have currently.

 

3. Olm's method of attacking should be related to the position of the player, he should use cycles and not be able to hit you with special attacks when you're out of view. He also shouldn't be able to use multiple special attacks at once due to the cyclic attack nature.

I think the scaling is working properly because I do believe when you are duoing mobs have 2x the hp as they do in a solo (which is same in your scaling document).

 

I'm not sure how points in cox work on OSRS but on alora 1 damage = 1 point. 

 

8k points in a solo/duo (personal points) is max amount of points for rolls in cox on alora, unless this is changed CM is kinda useless because you can hit 8k points very easy on normal layouts.

 

Olm is arguably the easiest room in cox, where you simply have to run between 2 tiles the entire fight, could be changed to be harder and make cox more exciting but we play alora for the simple mechanics so i'd like to keep it the same :)

As long as solo cox drop rates and style remains untouched I support this although, olm doesn't do multiple specials as long as you respect his ticks.

I support your first two but not with changing Olm. I feel like there are other priorities in the game other than making Olm harder. Also feel like it would open Pandora's box to make things like Verzik, etc  harder as well.

1. I've never paid too much attention to the points/scaling in group CoX as I've always seen that points really don't affect your drop rate that much. From my experience, someone that dies a few times in a raid has, on average, a similar drop rate to someone who finishes the raid without dying. Neutral. 

 

2. I agree that CoX CM sounds fun, but the mechanics would have to be similar to the ones already in place for Alora's CoX, since it is far from the same as OSRS. This would take significantly more work than just ripping the mechanics straight from OSRS. 

I also feel that other late-game PvM content should be focused on before working on CoX (again), such as ToA bug fixes when it comes out and phase 3 of the Verzik fight in ToB.

 

tl;dr, Cox CM is a cool idea but I could go without seeing it added for a long time. Neutral.

 

3. I think that while what Selenagomez is saying about the simple mechanics of Alora is true, I would love to see a more intense/fun Olm fight. The entire boss fight is so braindead. All you have to do is move 2 tiles either way each time the head turns to skip the specs (Side note: This doesn't even work all the time. Sometimes players get spec'd when running the head "properly"). 

Even though the Olm fight has been a work-in-progress for a long time, I agree that it should be made similar to OSRS. As it stands, it hardly feels like the final boss of an end-game PvM activity. Support.

Selena made some very fair points in regards to your suggestions. Personally, I’m all for changes that makes Alora’s features closer to OSRS.
