What is your suggestion?:

 

Options:

a) Prevent Dusk from spamming his prison special attack consecutively 

b ) Allow players to continue attacking Dusk after moving out of the prison (similar to bloat in TOB)

c) Reduce the animation stall time

 

 

Side note - Jar should be more rare than pet.

Here's what OSRS has listed

Could you clarify if you get 2 rolls at pet per kill (1 for Dawn kill & 1 for Dusk kill) or just 1 roll per completion.

Has this suggestion been accepted already?:

How would this benefit Alora?:

Would make grotesque guardians less annoying to slay.

 

Problems with the current system...

1. There's too much downtime spent waiting for Dusk's special attack (prison) to run its course (~10 seconds every time)

2. If Dusks spams the special attack consecutively, you end up with a 1-tick attack window (0.6s), followed by 10 seconds of waiting just to get in each additional hit 

3. There is a long animation before the 2nd half of the Dusk fight takes place (unattackable) -> attack window -> 10s special attack

This makes it easy to miss the window (like if you're on food/pot/weapon delay) and greatly reduces the player's dps.

SUPPORT

 

The annoyance of Dusk's consecutive special attack makes it fairly off-putting. Timings can easily be extended by 30-45seconds due to b2b2b Prison attacks.

I havent done ggs in quite some time. But when I did do them I dont remember this being an issue. If it's common for him to be spamming his special and you are basically unable to attack then yes this should be changed. But if it's just an occurence maybe 1/5 kills that he will use the attack twice on your then no it shouldnt be changed. Especially if it's like osrs (which you said it is by saying these changes are not in osrs)

I suggest you try Grotesque Guardians out on Alora, my friend.

 

Then come back with feedback on what you think is best for our community, not OSRS. 

 

Personally, I did 420 kills with max gear and nh gear (as practice), and I found it super slow, inconsistent, and unpleasant to do.

idk i did it in void gear. He didnt spam his prison attack, he did it one time when i killed the first one and maybe 10-20 seconds later then he was dead.

Keep going!  The first kill is quick if you dump c hally specs.   Afterwards, it just gets more and more annoying. 

Takes you 1 second to avoid the prison attack and 9 seconds to wait for the animation to end. 

Some kills go smoothly.  Other kills just drag on and on. 

In my opinion, all the waiting around prevents me from flowing and enjoying the activity.

Speedruns are super RNG dependent.  You can have the smoothest Dawn fight, but if Dusk wants to spam special attacks, all your effort goes to waste.

 

Here's my logic...

 

Gargoyle : Dusk&Dawn :: Cave Kraken : Kraken Boss

Keep in mind, gargoyles are level 75 slayer monsters, while kraken are level 87 slayer monsters.

 

If Alora is ok with a simplified kraken boss, I don't see why we can't have a less annoying Dusk & Dawn.

what is simplified of kraken? Kraken here is harder than it is on osrs. On OSRS you do not need to protect mage AND eat you just need to eat on osrs.

Also, range is more effective on Alora's Kraken, whereas OSRS's Kraken is completely magic.

"Magic is the only reliable way of dealing damage to it, as Ranged attacks are heavily reduced, and Melee cannot be used"

On OSRS you do not need to attack the pools anymore to spawn kraken. They made it easier just throw a item at the boss pool and gg. but this is getting out of hand for a suggestion thread so this will be my last comment on here.

I personally hate the Dusk and Dawn encounter due to the reasons you stated. It just feels slow and unejoyable. I really can't be completely unbiased when it comes to the drop rates because I have the pet and only missing the jar from the log. It is very demotivating to go there to hunt only the jar as it is but such is life of a collection log ocmpletionist. :D

The prison spec has always been so annoying. This would definitely make GGs a lot less tedious to grind.

Killing Dusk is so painfully tedious it can get to the point where Dusk's kill times are at least 50% longer than Dawn's
