What is your suggestion?: to buff the drop rates of phosani and maybe make some of the drop table have noted drops. The drop tables are quite different in osrs, just simply asking to have phosani drop rate buffed so more ppl will do the boss, even on nightmare bonuses the boss isnt killed.

Is this in OSRS?: Yes/no?

Has this suggestion been accepted already?: No

How would this benefit Alora?: Not quite sure the dr on alora of phosani but the boss is extremely dead content as it stands there's not much of a point in doing phosani over reg nightmare unless you dont have a team or want the egg which is cosmetic, 1 costmetic is worth doing it for IMO.

Full support.

Let's do some sloppy math on this real quick, a player who wants to grind nightmare has roughly a 1/333 chance of getting an armour piece and roughly 1/1000 for an orb. Let's say you're very efficient hitting 7 min a kill including banking, deaths, etc. You grind 5 hours a day because you have a job and social life.

That means if you're on drop rate, every 23 days you'll recieve an orb and every 7-8 days you'll get an armour piece. I'm sure @Real Alan or another alora mathematician can either verify or elaborate on the statistics better.

For armour that has extremely niche uses, and 1 of those orbs is practically a cosmetic, 1 is niche pvm uses, and 1 is good for pking.

Nerfing the drop rates killed the content, we should bring it back and let the market decide when we have enough NM drops in circulation. If they become devalued people will stop doing the content allowing the demand to determine the supply.

It's important to remember that although increasing supply of these items can (and likely will) lead to price decreases, the rewards from NM are of best use AT NM meaning if there's more people doing the content more people need inq pieces and potentially harm staves increasing demand and leading to a more fair price of NM items based on their uses rather than as a store of value for richer players.

The chance of getting any drop is 1/167 for phosani on osrs and its already increased rates here + Donator rank perks (But lets assume osrs rates, Which is a drop every 25hs (assuming 7 kils/H, which is like 8.5 min/kill including banking)

Lets say average price of a drop is like 5-600m atm (Considering harm and mace are alot more, vola orb and nm staff are slightly over, and eldritch and armor pieces slightly under)

Which is like 20-25m/H on average. Which is already fairly good.

To put it in perspective:

25 hours of cox would max give me like 75 raids which most likely isnt gonna give me more than 600m worth loot on average. (With master btw)

Tob max 50-60 raids which is like 2 uniques which is definatelly less.

I dont get why we keep trying to increase the pace of the game. We had increased loot before at phosani and it completely tanked the content. Cus I was nerfed after most people stopped doing it already because it wasnt profitable (Crohn even gave away a nm staff prior to nerf cus "Its not even worth tryna sell it"). The content is dead on osrs aswell considering there isnt a real purpose for inquisitor atm(Prob the scarabs in raid3 will be weak to fire/crush but until then GG ). Torva outshines it almost everywhere. And its even worse on alora because of the boosted accuracy on weapons which makes raw str bonus superior over crush attack bonus.

Speeding up the game and grinds is by no means beneficial to a server that prides itself in being an economy rsps. You want people to play the game and do the content and not breeze through it and afk rest of time.

Edit: Only buff that would make sense for ironmen is making all this supply drops noted. Then you could grind nightmare before nex and stock up brews at phosani while tryna hit a unique.

Here's a more detailed breakdown of how Phosani nightmare drops work

Each phosani kill grants you a roll on 3 separate tables...

75a7f82a577a1e98c52891aad492148d.png

If we assume an 8 min average phosani nightmare killtime, the time it would take you to hit the 1/200 table is approximately 27 hours.

8 x 200 / 60 = ~27 hours

And that's not even factoring in the time it takes to prepare supplies, recover from deaths, and reset.

If you have shit RNG like me at corp/sarchnis, you can expect to go 3x the drop rate for uniques...

You'd be literally going dry for days...

By the way, did I mention the the tertiary drop rates are currently all over the place.

We already adjusted the rare/pet drop rates for nightmare/phosani for next update, so that will be in effect soon. As for changing the normal drop table, I don't believe this is necessary, and as I've mentioned before we generally don't alter drop tables for npc's/bosses unless there's extremely good reason to do so.
