What is your suggestion?:

[All XP Rates are in GIM]

1. Dramatically increase XP rates inside Zalcano. Current XP rates are ~71k/hr mining, 15k/hr smithing, 7.5k/hr rcing, with comparable traditional training methods at 2-4m/hr, 3m/hr, 2-4m/hr respectively, it makes little sense why the current XP rates at zalcano wouldn't even be impressive in OSRS at x1. Zalcano provides a unique opportunity to dramatically improve XP per action as the meta strategy in groups or solos is to mine and refine 3-4 tephra and wait for the golem spawn to receive 15-20 refined tephra as a drop. XP buffs would create an incentive for players in groups/masses to not all be sitting idle waiting for golem spawns, and would reward playing mining/smithing/rcing actions.

2. Increase drop amounts of higher level rewards such as rune bars, crystal shards, combination runes, gems, etc. Improvements to unique drop rates aren't needed, but by improving the normal rewards it would encourage players to participate in Zalcano even when it isn't bonus. This could be done via a vote book boost, or as I've mentioned in previous suggestions a Skilling Minigames booster available in ::store.

3. Currently there is a bug where when trying to attack the golem your character faces it and follows it but does not attack, it is also possible to stand in the way of the golem preventing it from ever reaching Zalcano to heal it. This is so beneficial to abuse in solos or smalls teams that removing it without incentivizing the mining/refining aspect would be catastrophic to the minigame's limited activity already making it extremely difficult alone or in small teams.

Is this in OSRS?: In part, yes the drops are significantly better relative to the OSRS economy as they are currently relative to Alora's, but the XP rate increases would be unique to Alora.

Has this suggestion been accepted already?: No.

How would this benefit Alora?:

The XP rates aren't as desirable on OSRS but are largely ignored for how profitable it is. I think a healthy middle ground with comparable or slightly less xp rates to traditional training methods combined with some important skilling materials would create an audience for this content that is largely ignored except during events/masses. As mentioned in previous suggestions improvements to these minigames are crucial for them to have a niche that although may not make them active 24/7 would increase frequency of players participating in them beyond completing the log or going for the pet. This minigame is also a highly social one and would increase community engagement which we all love so much. I'd much rather spend my days in Zalcano with a few friends even if it came at the cost of 1m/hr xp less if it meant I wasn't sitting alone in the amethyst mine and I got some rewards from Zalcano that would compare to the value that we get from amethyst mining/crafting/fletching.

Most if not all minigames need a rework either in terms of xp/h / xp rewards or loot / loot potential. This will make it a viable part of alora again.

When minigames are busy people are chatting, chilling and messing around. We've recently seen this in Leagues aswell. Sadly it is only in leagues or the rare once in a blue moon event.

Support tweaking minigames in xp and rewards.

Just to clarify, we generally don't increase experience or drop rates manually unless OSRS has done so, so if the rates are not bugged, then the suggestion will likely not get accepted. We want to keep things consistent so that players who have played OSRS or use the wiki can know what to expect, which is why we don't experience or drop rates past the expected amounts.

That is a fair point I did think about that beforehand and should have addressed it better in my suggestions. With all due respect though if I'm remembering correctly Alora has modified drop rates to fit our community better some prime examples are: Phosani, and ToB, we have also lowered prices of aerial fishing uniques in the store which is akin to a drop rate increase for uniques at a skilling minigame. To be fair I've also proposed 2 alternatives being linking the supplies increase with the existing vote book boost (and expanding it in general to skilling minigames/boses not just tempeross and wintertotd) or by introducing a skilling minigame/boss booster to ::store. Both of these solutions couple the increase with an expense that helps the server via more voting/donating while still increasing popularity and viability of these pieces of content in their respective meta.

It is also important to note that many players who do come from OSRS often complain of the lack of activity at these minigames, I've witnessed it myself multiple times in just the past couple weeks with new players trying to start their accounts at wintertotd only to realize that the content is practically impossible at the lower level ironman gamemodes due to the lack of HP, and access to brews. To combat the confusion associated with changing these drop rates the bosses/minigames could be included in the Drop Table Searcher so the information is readily available.

I understand the importance of abiding to Alora's philosophy of being as close to OSRS as possible, but in this case we have essentially sacrificed these pieces of content that had a fair bit of valuable development time spent on them; many of which being highlights of updates for that philosophical principle. It begs to question if nobody's doing the content except for leagues or a rare event, then does it really matter if its similar to OSRS or not?

i agree and support while the idea is keep things as identical to osrs as possible, no one is doling the content though, hell even with phosani and tob on bonus its hard to find teams do, and those have been buffed past regular osrs rates as a skiller myself i appreicate all the ideas you have to imrpove skilling mingames , it would expand playstyles to those accounts and make said minigame much more engaging to make it worth it , as i just said on my last post, u said it best, why spent 1 hour getting 60k xp and cant afk at all or semi afk and get 4x amount xp/hr , with pry more profit even  , so i agree that something should be done to make minigames more enticing again, right now they are all just dead content lol
