Might sound like a weird question but I'm serious.

 

I'm not even a fanboy of Alora or anything.

 

But I've been trying to play some OSRS and I keep thinking "why am I subjecting myself to this? I could play Alora and get the exact same experience except I don't waste so much of my life with these shitty xp rates".

 

Seriously, OSRS feels like a weird science experiment to see just how much a human being will torture himself. Thousands of hours of meaningless, slow, boring grind.

Alora gives the exact same god damn thing. The only difference I can think of is quests, and tbh I always hated quests. Rs quests might've been good if they weren't designed with a guide in mind (well you could play it without a guide but then you'd have to constantly go to the bank/ge and bring random ass items cause Jagex loves to fucking waste your time).

Like Moe said, Alora has such a unique, awesome community too. It really does make you question peoples choices! That's why I'm here, I love the rates, the content and community!

That's part of the reason why I enjoy realism so much.

 

2x osrs -> more like 10x (vote bxp / event bxp / wildy bxp / SOTD bxp / weekend bxp / well / reduced banking time)

 

no bots -> no financial gain to bot like in OSRS

 

questing/planning -> diaries and quests unlock content/better xp rates, so players still need to plan

 

small community eco -> feels like an open gim group with the trading post as group bank with withdrawal fee (separate from normie)

 

meaningful grinds -> certain items have yet to be obtained (dragon full helm / dragon platebody / dragon kiteshield / orbs)

 

limited skilling supplies -> can't buy uncuts from NPC to get 99 crafting

Great points mate. Never thought I'd genuinely think that a rsps could be better than real runescape. But it's true, it's ridiculous just how unpleasant runescape is when you're slightly older. It's mind-boggling how people put up with all that inane grind.

Reason why I play realism.

 

1. Item Grinds take very long on alora, so it was no point for me to play anything above Elite Ironman rates.

2. Fuck osrs quests, doing 200hs running with buckets of flour and those shits, cbaaaaaaaaaa.

3. Alora has great community.

4. Alora up for a while now, so it has a strong base.

5. People actually get banned for doing stupid shit, such as botting, even considering the small staff team, alot of wonnabe pogchamps get filtered out/rinsed from server.

6. Not to mention moe dedicating like 10hs/week just hosting community events for those intrested.

I prefer hunting/grinding for pets/collection logs/comp stuff. xp grind is just too much for me on osrs. alora does it better

I'd love to see amethyst darts like osrs. But it might make the bp even more OP. So maybe a balance to the bp before releasing it.
