This would make smithing a whole lot easier and less tedious, as well as ironmen being able to make bars for darts extremely conveniently.

 

Basically having the availablity of coal ONLY being noted while smithing. I will share a picture below of what it would look like but the idea is instead of making 4 rune bars an inv we can make 27 because we have noted coal and regular runite ore in the inventory.

What about blast furnace though? this would almost make it dead content, as you can quickly make 40 rune bars quite quickly there

@ Fire Some people genuinely do not enjoy blast furnace. As well as the fact blast furnace is good xp for gold ore and no one can take that away. The plus side to this idea rather then blast furnace is that it is afk while blast furnace the more you afk making runite bars for example the less efficient you are. Gold isn't an issue seeing that thieving is a very good money make so the only QoL to this situation is the fact people can afk while getting good xp for making rune bars. 

 

Don't want to forget that people focus on crystal chest for rune bars. This is would make getting runite bars more open to anybody that wants them rather than grinding crystal keys.

I could see this being an eternal donor perk.

If everyone had this option, it would devalue the blast furnace.

As Alan said, this may pass as an eternal donator perk, but it's quite overpowered to add to the main game, and would essentially render blast furnace dead content. I understand not everyone may enjoy it, but it's the most efficient method available, making it a trade off.

Highly understandable however after someone finishes 99 smithing do they go above that? No unless they only make dart tips. This wouldn't be the method of training smithing efficiently because of how slow making bars is. This would make coal be more useful and make normal accounts, ironmen, and classic account actually go use the supplies they have to either make money or make rune darts. Blast furnace would still 100% be the fastest way of xp because of the ice and gold gloves making the hourly xp insane, this would just Quality of life for people that need darts but have no crystal keys.

The current smithing cape perk is close to worthless, I think this would be perfect for the smithing cape perk if you also lower the xp you get per rune bar. Keeping blast furnace relevant, I think most people would be willing to give xp just to make rune bars for their darts once they max. They already did their time grinding 99, why make them suffer. This would be something to look forward to when going for 99 also.

I would also see that as an Immortal+ ( ) donor perk, since this would be very OP. With inventory setups configured, blast furnace isn't even that tedious anymore...

I think blast furnace is fast enough as it is. Would be too OP.

Selfishly I’d love this but still no support. As other people have mentioned with pre sets blast furnace is pretty quick

@ Monaco not about the xp, its about the use of coal and runite ore since they arent needed even a little bit in the game due to crystal keys
