Good afternoon/evening/morning Alora,
I would like to preface this suggestion by specifying that I am, in fact, a Normie account. This information will become significant as we move forward with this article. For those of you that haven't immediately left this post as a result of previous statements made, I appreciate your time. If you'd like to provide feedback on this suggestion, please reply accordingly to the forum post.
I : INTRODUCTION
Questions to ask yourself before reading this section:
Is it possible for players to share common ground on Alora?
Normal account, why?
What does a Normie do all day?
Now, chances are that if you are reading this post, you're either a current member of the community or are involved with Alora in some form or fashion. As with any collective of diverse people, we possess different opinions, preferences, and intentions from one player to the next. Nevertheless, I find it true to believe that at the core of every Alora player resides the overwhelmingly-powerful desire to have improvements made that are beneficial yet all the while do not hinder the fundamental traits of a game we know and love.
Forging ahead, I previously alluded to the fact that I main a Normie account. This is key in understanding how I arrived to the decision of making a game-improvement suggestion. As you know, Players with the 'Normal Account' designation are not required to perform tedious methods of acquiring items. These accounts have full accessibility of the 'Trading Post,' allowing them to purchase items that would otherwise require acquisition via killing an NPC. As you can imagine, this ability to freely exchange items eliminates time that would be alternatively spent grinding for drops. Thus, comparatively speaking, Normal Accounts are left to allocate this time towards other activities that include but are not limited to:
1) Bankstanding
2) Contemplating ways of improving Alora
3) Maxing 99's / Working towards 200M XP
4) Gambling
Now you may be asking yourself, "R E Z Z, what is the significance of those 4 activities? What do they all have in common?"
Well, the answer is simple...
II : POLTON
Questions to ask yourself before reading this section:
Who?
Oh, that's how the Bonus XP works..?
Why is that player standing in the corner of the bank?
Often found residing in the bank located at Home, POLTON is a respected, extremely wealthy member of this community. He is commonly known throughout the server to be one of the most gracious contributors to The Well of GoodwIll, an apparatus which grants an XP boost to all accounts across the server, so long as a player physically steps in front of The Well and uses Coins or items. The Well of Goodwill will notify the player with the following information:
1) Value of coins/items offered to The Well
3) Amount donated to The Well
4) Remaining value until The Well is full
5) Server-wide YELL of the contributor(s) name and amount donated
6) Amount of time The Well's Bonus XP will be active
As you can imagine, POLTON makes the trip to the well more often than others. Despite being within the general vicinity of The Well, the distance made travelling to make deposits becomes astonishingly great over time. This may take a toll on a player's will.
Nevertheless, POLTON, being the efficient player that he is, can be seen, on occasion, standing on the northwesternmost tile of the bank. This tile serves of great strategical significance to POLTON, as this single tile allows POLTON to be in virtually the closest conceivable tile to the Well, while simultaneously being able to bankstand.
III : CONCLUSION
Questions to ask yourself before reading this section:
How rich is he?
Where are you going with this?
How can I get this suggestion approved?
Previously, I briefly touched on the fact that POLTON is RICH. Not only is he very, very RICH, but he has furthermore become decently famous around the server.
And what does society do to commemorate people that are both RICH and famous? Simple.
THEY BUILD STATUES OF THEM.
Exhibit 1A.
The northwesternmost tile of the bank (indicated by the red 'X')
This is the closest tile in proximinity to the Well of Goodwill that a player can stand while bankstanding.
Exhibit 1B:
In this illustration, we see Polton (indicated by the red arrow) standing on the northwesternmost tile of the bank. Please reference Exhibit 1A (shown above).
IIII : SUGGESTION
Questions to ask yourself before reading this section:
Does Omicron even read these things?
Will Polton give me gp if I beg?
Why are Polton's PMs set to 'Friends' only?
What is your suggestion?:
We delegate a single tile of the bank to serve as the location for a statue of Polton. (Reference Exhibit 1A and 1B for proposed location).
Is this in OSRS?:
No but it should be
Has this suggestion been accepted already?:
No but it should be
How would this benefit Alora?:
Placement of a statue on the specific northwesternmost tile of the bank will serve as a placeholder for Polton on the rare occasion that he is not bankstanding. This will support Polton in his quest to achieve the optimal proximity to the Well of Goodwill at all times, all the while commemorating him for his gracious past, present, and future contributions to the Well.
Giving appreciation and recognition for someone who has supported the players daily, goes a long way.
If we do this for him, Polton will likely feel morally obligated to continue to allocate funding for the Well, thus granting bonus XP for ALL players of Alora, subsequently enhancing the overall game experience for users on Alora.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
