There’s not really a console category, only PlayStation or Xbox, maybe better to combine these 2 categories in 1 called Consoles? Seeing as people never post in it anyways.
 

Anyone getting a PlayStation 5? If so, which of the two? Why particularly that one? Did you manage to pre-order one? 

In the Netherlands it was sold out on one of the biggest webshops, 9-18 in like 10 minutes, a smaller site just 1 minute, 9-19. Some other webshops are doing the pre-orders just a day before it actually comes out, meaning 11-18. I’ve followed the mayhem on this Dutch tech site in a forum, people stressing out when they missed out, you rarely see stuff like this. At work this Friday me and some colleagues were spam clicking f5, at last I had the PlayStation 5 digital edition in my basket, logged in. Next page, *error*. Site got refreshed so many times it just crashed. To bad for my colleague for who I was buying it for and eventually he’d pay me back but I have to admit that I enjoy seeing sites crash because of this.
 

How fast did it sell out in your country? What are you excited for on release?

 

Personally I loved the Hogwarts Legacy game and God of Wars teaser. Have seen some other exclusives but not really what I’m into.

I didn’t follow nor planning on buying this, though I’m interested to see what people are going for.

 

If it sold out in your country, how fast did it sellout? What are you excited for on release?

 

I’m not sure what is going to be on release for Xbox, personally I’d go for the PlayStation 5.

Pre-order date is September 22th.

I currently own a PS4 Pro. Eating dust tbh. But will probably sell it soon and will buy a PS5 whenever I feel like playing Playstation again.

Same, PlayStation 5 has backward compatibility though so you can play ps4 games on there, which is nice. Kept track of pre-orders or no? Like how fast did it sellout, what exclusives you’re excited for? If you’re going for disc version or digital edition?

Haven't kept track of pre-orders as my main focus is Alora at the moment. I actively played Warzone when it came out. I am hoping for Rockstar Games to make an announcement on a new GTA but they haven't. They are sadly still cashing on GTA5 which is ridiculous in my opinion. 

I always go for Digital games as I don't like to swap discs all the time. Also if you are really short on HDD/SDD space it's not too hard to replace it with a bigger/faster one. So yeah..

Haven't kept track of pre-orders as my main focus is Alora at the moment. I actively played Warzone when it came out. I am hoping for Rockstar Games to make an announcement on a new GTA but they haven't. They are sadly still cashing on GTA5 which is ridiculous in my opinion.

It’s crazy how PS5 GTA V is €75,-. Even if it’s backwards compatible. Also I don’t really mind for disc or digital edition, the collection of discs is something that I enjoy. And yes, in no time you’ll have shortage of memory, easy to replace it with a new one though. Pros and cons for both. Games are getting expensive though, standard for PS5 is going to be €70/80.

I believe the PS5 GTA version includes some graphical improvements and engine tweaks. But then still, it is the same game...

Yeah, after a few times playing you wouldn’t even notice the difference. I’ve also heard a rumour that they’re gonna add an island which is 95% bs most likely.

My first ever console was a PS3. When my dad told me that he was going to get me a console for my birthday, I was super excited. At the time, I had to pick which one I want. PS3 or Xbox360. PS3 was a bit more superior in terms of graphic but the xbox wasn't that far off. I ended up with PS3 cause of one thing at the time. Xbox had a monthly fee to play online while PS3 was free. That's why I chose PS3 over xbox. Every since I have been bias and always go with the Playstation because it was my first console. If I was to get a new console, I would pick the PS5 without a thought.

Not 100% sure if it’s exactly all exclusives. Plenty more games coming though, some on launch date, some even in 2021.

Same, PS2 was my first console, after that Wii -> PS3 -> PS4. I’d go for the PS5 as well. And yeah the monthly fee was something I didn’t enjoy as a mild cheapskate so it was the PS3 over the Xbox any day.

I would rather have that then the Xbox Series S because it's got the 1TB and I just want the cube console. I can easily put an external drive on the S but just my personal preference LOL.

I started with a Playstation 1 & 2 growing up then once middle school came along I got an Xbox 360 and then later on after that an Xbox one. Yea my bad meant hopping lol, I'll be getting the Xbox Series X at launch, and I thought Hogwarts Legacy was a PS5 exclusive O:... if it's not then I'll be putting the PS5 on hold for awhile until there's a good deal lol. Yes the new xbox's have backwards compatible so all the games that are currently on the Xbox backwards compatible list will be available on launch of the new Xbox. Which is great imo.

God of War does look sick and I'm just gonna watch streams on FF16...

I'm mainly waiting on the new Fable, Avowed (Xbox Exclusive) and Elder scrolls VI which is projected to release in 2024...which is gonna AWHILE LOL.

God of War ‘sounds’ sick, xd. Pretty sure there was just a teaser, no gameplay yet. (Could be wrong). 2024 is just 4 years away, might get that game on ps6 never heard of Fable tbh.

lmao I know it's just 4 years awhile but still awhile XD....and Fable is just an Action RP game...Just doing quests and killing stuff. I only played one Fable which was Fable III but I heard the other one's were soooo good lol.

Sounds like it could help Microsoft, which is nice I guess some competition. You should check out Godfall though, that’s PS5 exclusive, at launch. (After a while it’s coming to Xbox) and I’ve heard that’s gonna be a good game as well. Though my personal favorite was definitely Hogwarts Legacy, idk it was just so unexpected.

Right Hogwarts Legacy was so unexpected, and Godfall does look good but may just be another game I watch on stream to save money XD.
