My team is very upset. We had 2 players on our GIM step away from runescape as a whole. My team loves to play this server but now is constricted to 3 people unless we pay. We had talked with other friends of ours who would join and make new accounts... but this only works if we pay... To me, this isn't fair. You're penalizing the committed players to the community and taking advantage of us. WE DIDN'T QUIT. But out teammates did, so its 25$ out of our pocket? It just doesn't make sense. This shouldn't be something that keeps us from playing the server that we love but it is. Its effecting game-play on accounts we dedicated a lot of time to. Please consider changing the policy to free gim trade-outs if its a brand new account. It keeps people playing and brings new players to the game in our situation.

First of all, this has been suggested many times, and failed every time.

This is exactly the reason why you shouldn't hop in a team with randoms. Only team up when you're certain they will keep on playing, or pay for their own GIM removal tickets.

I do see what you mean with the policy for new accounts though. I think this won't work; it will be way to easy for people to get "freely" kicked, and GIM trading is back.

I think there are other ways to solve this issue, but for now, no support.

Like BP said, joining a team with randoms is asking for trouble. I've experienced this first hand with my GIM.

 

When allowing leave/join to be easier/costless this also comes with the fact that the entire 'Ironman' aspect of it gets forfeit.

 

I understand your frustration, I've been in your situation, but for the integrity of the game mode I do not support.

I don't support this, reason was already stated but I would like to put it in my own words as well. I was in the same boat as you, this account has circulated through 3 different teams, and I still have a 100% inactive team currently. If you want your team to stand, YOU need to buy a ticket and remove yourself and start new. Imagine if I was on your team and just wanted to leave freely with your items. Or imagine all us of are almost maxed, so I leave your team and go start with noobs. Now these noobs have all end game gear that I have earned. Essentially bringing "gim trading back". Perfect how it is now, sorry you got some shitty team mates .

I have to agree with everyone else on this as a GIM you should be careful about who you invite to your group as they can become inactive for awhile and loose motivation. In my first group I was the only one who played and my group members would log in only to ask for items and the one time I have items the xfered them over to there normie and sold for bond money. But the reason it’s not allowed to just freely leave is that you can trade items between teams which has been fixed with leaving team limit. And so that someone can’t join a group that has a lot of items and just leave after swiping all the items
