Strato has Volunteered to do the interviews for the newspaper from now on. This week he interviews
Elvemage &
Omicron
Elvemage's Interview
Strato: You've proven yourself worthy of every staff position you've ever held in Alora, what is the #1 advice you can give to non-staff members who have been applying for the team?
Elvemage: The most important advice I can give about being a staff member is that you've got to understand the need of the player.
The conversation between a regular player and a staff member has to be effective.
Let him know you're taking the question seriously even if the question is silly.
This will make the indivual happy after you helped him out and that's all we need as a crew.
Strato: If there was one thing you could improve about yourself, what would it be, and why?
Elvemage: I'm taking my postion very seriously. I also know I could improve myself in many ways. I feel I need to focus more on prioritizing things.
With the ever-increasing player base, I get an extremely large amount of PMs every day, from something extremely silly, to something of utmost importance. I will try my best in
prioritizing the issues so that everything gets handled the right way.
Strato: You clearly dedicate a lot of time in contributing towards Alora, What do you get in return?
Elvemage: I do not think of my role as a moderator, a chore at all. It is the simple joy of helping out the server overall that motivates me. I do what I love and love what I do.
Omicron's Interview
Strato: As the founder and developer, where do you see Alora in the near future?
Omicron: Alora has always exceeded my expectations, and we've grown and flourished more than I had anticipated in the past month and a half. Taking that into consideration, I could only expect the same for the future. I intend to do my best to provide the most enjoyable experience for the community, as well as future prospective members.
Strato: You've seen some good days, as well as some rough ones. What keeps you going?
Omicron: Some days are definitely better than others! There have been days where it seems that everything that can go wrong has gone wrong, but we've always managed to persevere and come back even stronger. I could not do it without the support of the community though, otherwise I'd feel like I'm in this all alone. I can't express how crucial the staff team's support has been, especially during those bad days where they all work together to keep things in order. When things aren't going great and I get discouraged, I also remind myself of how many people in the community love and enjoy playing Alora, and how I'd be letting them down if I didn't give it my all.
Strato: If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be, and why?
Omicron: One of my not-so-great qualities is that I'm not always as calm and collected as I could be during stressful situations, and consequently I tend to not think rationally. Tying in with the previous answer, there are times when I could become irritable if I'm stressed out, which isn't good at all.
Special thanks to
Strato for helping me this week!
