I currently have a -$10 donated amount.
How this happened:
I have donated $310 to the server. I have donated for $80 twice, which means I got 800 tokens plus 100 free tokens twice, (total of 1600 paid + 200 free). I have donated $50 three times, which means I got 500 tokens plus 75 free tokens three times, (total of 1500 paid + 200 free). Total, by this math, I have donated for 3100 paid tokens and 500 free tokens. I bought a firecape, an imbued ring set, and a mystery box from the store. The total cost for these purchases is 300 tokens, so I have 2800 paid tokens remaining, and 500 free tokens remaining. At this point, my donated amount should still be $310 since I have not sold a bond.
tl:dr, donated $310, that's 3100 tokens paid for and 500 free tokens, spent 300 tokens, should have 2800 tokens paid for and 500 free tokens.
The rest of the tokens have been spent on bonds, so I sold 33 bonds to players. (I still have 3, so 30, but for the sake of this, I have sold 33 bonds). By this logic, my donated amount on the webpage should be down to -$20 donated (I don't know why I'm at $-10 and not $-20, I might have forgotten about a donation or something), because I did not pay for the bonus tokens but I am able to spend them, it punishes me.
So technically this server operates under two donation system, the donated amount system and the token system both of which do not directly correlate. This is a problem. Nowhere does it clearly state that if you spend your 'free' tokens on bonds, you will lose $10, it still costs you $10 even though the tokens are advertised as free.
I think these are the solutions:
- Separate free and paid tokens and do not let free tokens be spent on bonds
- Rework the bond system entirely to not reduce your amount donated, and not credit other players amount donated.
- More clearly state on the donation page how the bond and token systems work to, in hopes, stop new players from permanently fucking themselves over.
