So it's been a few months since realism was released and it's finally reaching it's first maxed player. I enjoyed playing this game mode for what it was but it does feel like just another classic mode. 

-The economy is completely inflated if you can even find someone selling something you need. 

Since

-Alora allows players to trade gold between modes, people who are rich on their main accounts benefit greatly in the race to max.

 

If Realism was a 1 to 1 Ironman mode, it would be epic.....

 

My suggestion though, is a 4-5xp Ultimate Ironman mode.

UIM was the first mode I played on this server in 17' and is still the most fun I had on the server, it just didn't last.

 

I know there are others on this server who are down for the grind and I don't see how the addition of these modes could hurt the server in anyway.

Group Ultimate Ironman mode? No thanks. Just make a group ironman team and implement the Ultimate Ironman restrictions yourselves. Yes it will be a lower xp rate (6x vs 40x from UIM) but it does give an opportunity to challenge you and your team.

The majority of realism players seem to be really enjoying their game mode.
Inflated is the wrong word to describe the economy, the Realism economy has been steadily settling since it's release.

Overall I understand your opinion but it is just that, an opinion.

 

As for the UIM game mode suggested.. I'm unsure how much demand there is for something like that but I don't see it being awfully high.

Group Ultimate Ironman mode? No thanks. Just make a group ironman team and implement the Ultimate Ironman restrictions yourselves. Yes it will be a lower xp rate (6x vs 40x from UIM) but it does give an opportunity to challenge you and your team.

I think what @Moral truth was trying to say is a new game mode wouldn't need to be introduced for players to do something like you're suggesting. Just make a Realism, Elite Iron man, Or Classic account and implement the restrictions to your account personally.

No support. We have enough game modes as is and I don't feel the need to divide the community into more groups especially as our player base hasn't been the highest lately.

Ah, I misread that part and thought you were suggesting a group UIM mode with 4-5 people rather than 4-5 xp rate. In that case, just play EIM with UIM restrictions. Not that difficult to implement said restriction yourself. There is no need to fuse two or more game modes into another game mode.

No support on this, we've got more than enough game-modes. If you want a challenge, I suggest a self emposed challenge, like the ones sassafras does often e.g HC UIM. For you, just play elite/realism with no banking allowed.

The comments about having "self implemented game modes" make no sense in my opinion. The strive for these players is the high scores and the status that is given to those who have a high total/ high amount of end game items whilst having that certain icon, as it shows the challenge of obtaining those levels/items. You don't get that same feeling of achievement if you have to explain to everyone how you make it harder on yourself and that it's unofficial. Plus you'll always have those saying you "cheated your own rules". 

 

With that being said, I still don't think we should add another game mode. The ones currently in game already are challenging enough for a RSPS in my opinion. I think just because a handful of players are already reaching max, it doesn't warrant a brand new game mode to "up the ante". If it were that important to you just race to 200m for highscores? 

Not to mention we already have a lot of game modes.

 Plenty of players already do self restricted accounts and record them on the forums for the community to see and haven't had an issue of people saying they cheated and all of them seem very content with not having a "Special Icon" as well plenty of people on OSRS do the same thing and have huge fan bases following the progression.

Yes, they like them because of the entertainment and the niche of it. You think I don't watch Swampletics and don't love it? My point is that obviously OP isn't one of those people or else he wouldn't have asked for a rank.

That's fine, i'll play different games with my spare time instead of investing it here but, to suggest another icon in the chat logs would damage the game is asinine.....much of the player-base already can't trade with other players and lets face it, if you play a normal account and don't pk you're just doing it wrong.

 

I semi-agree that there are 'too many' gamemodes that are similar.... IE Realism is literally what classic should have been when it was released....They ruined EIM by allowing partners......which later they released group iron-man anyway......each mode IMO has been tainted in some fashion though, those 'mistakes' where voted on by the players, those that participated anyway.

lmao you're literally telling me to mix two gamemodes when i'm asking for 1 gamemode and a lower rate.

Let's be real brother, not enough people have enough interest and patience for the quick rate UIM mode let alone a slow rate mode. People just aren't interested in the whole no banking and all that having to drop your items etc. It's just a whole different play-style most people aren't willing to commit to, making it on the bottom end of the scale in regards to popularity with game-modes.

 

I will say that every game-mode (if) anymore get implemented over the course of however have to be thought out specifically to the point where it doesn't start to make us look stupid as a community having all these game-modes. We need to look back on what game-modes have yielded popularity the most and branch from there if anything, though personally I think Omicron should seal the whole game-mode implementations for now and focus on other things.
