Introduction

 

 

Prayer is a skill that involves you either burying bones or using them on a PoH (Player owned house) altar. Prayer is a crucial skill for those seeking challenges at higher combat levels whether it be bosses, raids or PvP. Prayer is unlocked as the skill goes up, assisting players in both offensive and defensive ways. Having prayer active, drains a players prayer points.

Effect: Deals damage up to 25% of your Prayer level to nearby targets upon the player's death

Effect: Heals the player if they fall below 10% health

Drain Rate: 1 point per 6 seconds

 

Name: Smite

Level: 52

Effect: Removes 1 Prayer point from an enemy for every 4 damage inflicted

Drain Rate: 1 point per 2 seconds

 

Name: Preserve

Level: 55

Effect: Boosted stats last 50% longer

Drain Rate: 1 point per 2 seconds

 

Name: Chivalry

Level: 60

Effect: +15% Attack, +18% Strength, +20% Defence

Drain Rate: 1 point per 1.5 seconds

 

Name: Piety

Level: 70

Effect: +20% Attack, +23% Strength, +25% Defence

Drain Rate: 1 point per 1.5 seconds

 

Name: Rigour

Level: 74

Effect: +20% Ranged attack, +23% Ranged strength, +25% Defence

Drain Rate: 1 point per 1.5 seconds

 

Name: Augury

Level: 77

Effect: +25% Magical attack and defence, 25% Defence

Drain Rate: 1 point per 1.5 seconds

 

 

NOTE:

 

Preserve, Rigour and Augury can ONLY be used after a player unlocks them with a Prayer Scroll. It requires one for each prayer a player wishes to unlock, meaning it takes three prayer scrolls to unlock all three of them. Prayer scroll can be obtained via a drop in Chambers of Xeric, be bought of the Trade post in Edgeville Bank or be bought of another player.

The two most used methods are to either use the bones on a POH (Player Owned House) Altar or on the Chaos Altar in the Wilderness as they grant the most experience. While remaining in +25 Wilderness for 2 minutes, player with not receive the1,5x bonus xp since prayer is a combat skill and the bonus only applies for non-combat skills. At he Chaos Altar, there is a 50% chance that bones used on the Altar won't be consumed making it a very popular method to use. Player can also bring noted bones and cash and have the Chaos Druid next to the altar unnote the bones for 200 gp each. 

 

NOTE:

The spot is also popular for PK'ers and there is a chance you will get killed so don't bring too much wealth.

POH Altar

If a player wishes to use a POH Altar, they will need to request for someone to open their house that is online. If a player wishes to use the altar provided by another player, the player can head West of ;;shops to the POH Portal.

 

 

Right click the Portal and select "Friend's house"

 

 

Type in whomever's username and press enter.

 

 

You are now in their house.

 

Chaos Altar

If you wish to go to the Chaos Altar speak to the Teleport Wizard at Home

 

 

Go to "Bosses" and then "King Black Dragon"

 

 

Run South West past the Chaos Fanatic until you see the Chaos Altar

 

 

Prayer bonus

 

Players can use different kinds of armor to gain prayer bonus. Each point of prayer bonus slows the prayer drain rate by 3.33%. This means that having 30 points of prayer bonus makes your prayer last twice as long. An example would be that Protect from Magic would then drain 1 Prayer point every 6 seconds instead of every 3 seconds. Down below are some of the most commonly used prayer gear.
