What type of game, that takes themselves and their player-base seriously, just wipes accounts because they're inactive for x amount of days? 

 

No one has any more importance than anyone else that is here, been here or will stumble across this place. 

 

If you don't have the username you want then oh well, suck it up princess, should have been here earlier.

I don't think whipping the account is the goal her it's freeing the name you an aways give that account a temp name and if the player returns they can sort that out in appeals

I mean, OSRS has done name wipes before. Does that game take itself and the player base seriously?

@TGIM Novalia - I hope that's a rhetorical question because we all know they could not give two damns about there player base. Especially since they sold and changed hands, they're completely commercialised. I dare say their incentive to re-releasing old names was that there was a $10 price-tag on it as you needed to purchase membership.  

 

Also, the window of which a company could actually successfully pull this off would have to be way greater than how long Alora has been released.

No thanks this would do more harm than good and wiping in-active accounts doesn't make sense to me as you may never know, if they return and forcing them change their name because lack of activity doesn't sound fair either and freeing banned account name is a definitely no.

I don't get the people not supporting this, He clearly explained and gave you an example. A guy that logged in for 5 mins then never logged back in. Yeah wipe that account. He doesn't even have an hour of gameplay. It was not said to wipe accounts that had dedication put into them.  "Trying the server" type of accounts with unique usernames should be wipes if the account had no decent progress on them. and by decent i mean literally joined just to give the server a try and then left and never came back.

i understand where you are coming from, however to keep the game secure and have the most security i don't think wiping usernames is a good idea. when you choose a username there is always a chance it is taken, with anything. people who have misused the name previously should have that name banned indefinitely, that way a new user wont have to have that "reputation" based off the name previously used. however that is just my opinion
