I was thinking about the amount of people that ask to borrow items in this game (a lot of them which are quite expensive) and the only way to lend them at the moment is through trust or collateral, however with a system like the one Jagex implemented in 2008, all risk would be taken out of the equation, as well as making the whole thing easier (not having to wait until both players are on and one might be afk etc.)

I dont know how hard this would be to add to Alora though.

toally agree, items would before worthless and nobody would grind for them items anymore once 1 person in their group of friends has one.

No support. I don't see this suggestion helping out the economy as players can have access to expensive items via lending.

No, people still have to lend them out, not borrowing them straight from the server.

I like what Chuck said, It would totally give those bigger items are sense of devalue in my opinion. This isn't a bad option though and would be cool to see it in-game.

I have to say no support to this, would be an easy way to lend expensive items to friends or people for no risk and just helps the rich get richer

I am NEUTRAL on this topic. I like the idea but also agree that it could de value some items due to heavy loaning.

@Seabound i understand the lending system i used it quite a bit back in the day rented out my party hats what im saying is yes the lender gets maybe 10-25m a hour but then players can rent them from players lets just say tbow rent is 25m a hour i wouldn't pay more than that you can rent it for 100 hours for before you pay for the full tbow

As stated above by everybody else this will devalue items and devalue the point of making enough money to use said items.

I see a way of people manipulating the system to steal peoples items happening from this update if it were to pass.

If you follow what happened to the runescape economy following this update there were at least 3 negatives.

 

1) Prices of some items artificially rose as players hoarded them simply for the purpose of renting for profit.

I.e. partyhats spiked because everyone wanted their cheap chance to showoff a partyhat and suddenly owners could make huge profits renting for multiple million gp per day.

 

2) Prices of some items tanked as many people preferred to borrow a niche item rather than buy it. 

 

3) How do you deal with deaths and items kept on death?  In runescape, the borrowed item was 100% guaranteed to be one of the items kept on death.  But what if you're skulled? In the wildy?
