What is your suggestion?: A "Welcome Back" message for returning friends.
AzE0V43.png
In rs3, this message triggers whenever a friend (that also has you added), logs in after atleast 1 month of inactivity.

Is this in OSRS?: No, I don't think so.

Has this suggestion been accepted already?: No.

How would this benefit Alora?:
This feature would promote reuniting with old friends that haven't visited the server in a while.

I could also imagine that this feature would give the returning player another reason to stick around. (Due to the chances of being greeted and reunited with old friends).

I like the idea, but I don’t wanna overflow my chat with those return messages from 80% of the people I don’t know. I was thinking of that message appears when you have the specific person on your friendlist, but it should be fine with “[player] has logged in/out.”

I think this would be a nice feature to have only if you have that person added. Otherwise, just a personal message only they can see. Some way that would not make the chat too spammy.

I really doubt that any sort of spam/overflow will occur.
In the 2+ years that this feature has been in rs3, i've only ever seen this message a couple of times.

The chances of a friend (that also has you added) logging in for the first time in over a month, at the time same time as you're logged in isn't all that high.

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough.
To clarify: The message would only be seen by you. It wouldn't be broadcasted to other people that don't have eachother added.

Not really a big fan of this suggestion. There's not enough returning players for this to be effective, well in my opinion. And this will pretty much only relate to players who have been here for a significant amount of time, or to those who have 200 members on their Friends-list.

Netural for the time being with subject to change, ty for the suggestion Elsa :)

I don't really know how effective this feature would be in terms of how many % of players that would stick around after having this message being sent to their friends (that also has them added), compared to not having any messages/notifications sent.
However, taking this reddit post into consideration, I'd assume that the results has been atleast satisfactory considering that the feature is still in-game.

I appreciate you for taking the time to clarify your suggestion. Since you put it that way, I would definitely support this. Definitely a way for players to catch up with friends who haven't been on in a while. Let's just hope said friend doesn't get spammed with pms. ;)

I don’t mind it, it’s not that important so I’m gonna be neutral on this one.

This would be a very user-friendly addition to have in the game, it would personally put a smile on my face if I was to return after a long break and be recognized for my return.
