How To Combine Ward Shards

Good day, my friends!

In this guide, I will be showing you how to combine your odium and/or malediction shards into an odium/malediction ward. This guide is especially for ironmen, as normal/classic players can simply buy their wards and upgrade kits from the trade post.

Without further ado, let's get into the guide!

Obtaining Your Shards

To obtain your shards, you must get them as a drop from the following bosses in the Wilderness. All shards have a drop rate of 0.48% (rare).

Odium Shard 1 - Dropped by Chaos Fanatic
Odium Shard 2 - Dropped by Crazy Archaeologist
Odium Shard 3 - Dropped by Scorpia

Malediction Shard 1 - Dropped by Chaos Fanatic
Malediction Shard 2 - Dropped by Crazy Archaeologist
Malediction Shard 3 - Dropped by Scorpia

Finding The Bosses

Chaos Fanatic

Spoiler

Since the Chaos Fanatic boss teleport currently does not work, you will have to use a different route.

Head over to the teleport wizard in Edgeville via ;;home (default location), click on Bosses, then click on King Black Dragon.


After you have confirmed your teleport, you will be teleported to Lvl 44 Wilderness.


From here, run south-west.


You should be in an area with pink crystals. You should see an NPC walking around with an ancient staff. That is the Chaos Fanatic. This is a single-combat area.


To defeat the Chaos Fanatic, use ranged and protect from magic. Be sure to avoid his green magical attacks as you may take a lot of damage if not careful.

Crazy Archaeologist

Similar to the Chaos Fanatic, its boss teleport currently does not work. As such, you will have to use a different route.

Use the command ;;wests and you will be taken to south of green dragons, which is located in Lvl 10 Wilderness.


From there, run north until you reach around Lvl 22 Wilderness. Be sure to avoid the green dragons along the way.


You should be in Ruins (West). It should look like this on your compass.


If you see an NPC walking around with a hat and a blue book, that is the Crazy Archaeologist. This is a single-combat area.


To defeat the Crazy Archaeologist, you can use either magic or melee. If using magic, pray range. If using melee, pray melee. Be sure to avoid his attack of explosive books.

Scorpia

This is the only boss from this list who has a fuctional teleport, so getting to Scorpia should be easy.

Head over to the teleport wizard in Edgeville via ;;home (default location), click on Bosses, then click on Scorpia.


After confirming your teleport, you should be at the Scorpion Pit, located in Lvl 54 Wilderness. Go west into the cave entrance.


After entering the cave, go west and will find Scorpia. Keep in mind you are still in the Wilderness, and it's a multi-combat zone.

Combining Your Shards

Now that you have all 3 of your odium and/or malediction shards, you must take them to the Wilderness Volcano to combine them together.

Head over to the teleport wizard in Edgeville via ;;home (default location), click Bosses, then Chaos Elemental.


Once you confirm your teleport, you should be south of Rogue's Castle, located in Lvl 50 Wilderness.


From there, go east until you see a gate.


Then. go north-east until you see the volcano.


Finally, you need to go to the center of the bridge.


Use an odium/malediction shard with its respective part. No skill level is required to do this. You need to be in this spot for it to work. Be cautious as this is a multi-combat zone.


Congratulations, you have your ward(s)! You need 60 Defense to wield them.

Upgrading Your Ward's Appearance (Optional)

If you are not satisfied with how your ward looks, you can use a ward upgrade kit to change its appearance.

To obtain one, you can purchase it from the vote shop for 150 vote points. By default, you earn 25 vote points for every vote book you open.


You can find the shop by going to any vote booth by a bank, or visiting the vote manager south of Edgeville bank.




Once you have your kit, just use it on your ward, and its appearance will change. Keep in mind that the stats will remain the same.


This is the odium ward (or) [left] and the malediction ward (or) [right]. Both of these are untradable.
