This is a minor suggestion that I’m seeing some players getting in jail for. The random event question, as the title suggests, may be misleading for some players, as the question may imply where the game developer (or company) is based at (their home city), instead of the default home teleport location.

The question should be reworded to either “Where is the teleport wizard located” or “What is your current home teleport location” or something along those lines. If this suggestion gets accepted, less players are likely to end up in jail or ask for the answer if they come across that question randomly.

EDIT: To add on to this suggestion, perhaps also show on the home teleport tooltip what your current home teleport location is. That could be a way to find the answer easily if hinted on the question.

Support, I have a hard enough time with the ones that are worded correctly, last thing we need is a curve ball of a question to confuse people xD

I support this idea, it could be confusing for most players even though it sounds simple enough.

The question is "What is Alora's home city called" which the majority of players should know is Edgeville. You've suggested it be changed to "Where is your home located in Alora", I don't see this as much of an improvement, if anything it'd cause more confusion as "home" is not specific enough to which players could start confusing the question with Player Owned Houses. The current wording is find as it stands in my opinion, the usual case behind failed randoms is not the question but rather the players failure to read the question properly for what it is.

 

 

As for the second suggestion, I'm not too bothered whether it's added or not. Could be useful but it's not entirely necessary. Anyone who sets their Home teleport would do so with a purpose, e.g. Catherby home teleport for efficient farm runs, Seers Village for efficient Agility runs whilst running the Seers Rooftop course. So it'd be hard to forget what your current home teleport is.

@Immortal Fox I’ll be editing the original post accordingly. I recall saying “or something along those lines” because there’s probably other ways to best word the question. Perhaps where the teleport wizard is, or where did you start the tutorial. I also feel it doesn’t hurt to have the tooltip of your current home location. Sure, you can easily remember where it is, but not everybody will. The only way to check, for example, if someone hasn’t been online for a while, would have to go back to the teleport wizard to check.

I still stand by my suggestions, but I appreciate your feedback.

When you click the home teleport, where does it send you? Edgeville. Should be common knowledge that is the home of Alora. Not to count the fact that all the shops, thieving area, bank standing player base, and wizard for teleports is also there.

I agree with the people saying it's fine as it is now though. Doesn't seem to be major and should be easy to work out what the question actually means.

 

If anything was to be changed... Just removed "city" in the question so it reads as "What is Alora's home called?" because Edgeville isn't a city, it's a town.

I agree, it is more of a town lol. When people say “home” it can be interpreted differently. Could it be my POH home, the home on my teleport (like you said, it can be changed), or Alora having a home on an old school RSPS. Definitely agree with removing city. :)

I don't mind if it stop people being confused don't see why not change the question. I don't mind it either way whatever works better for the community.
