Barrelchest Guide

If you're just coming across this guide, chances are you didn't know this monster existed in Alora. Well, now you know it does!

The only reason why you would want to kill this monster is for the 100% drop rate of the barrelchest anchor.

Getting There

Firstly, you would want to start out at ;;home which should be Edgeville, by default. From here, run north-west.


After passing the Wise Old Man's home, go south-west.


By now, you should be in the Monastery.


Talk to Brother Tranquility. He will offer you to teleport you to fight Barrelchest, and you'll say "Yes" if you're ready to fight.

Preparing For Barrelchest

Barrelchest is a combat level 190 monster with 255 HP. It is aggressive.

• It can attack you within melee range and from a distance. The combat style used against it does not matter.
• Its max hit is 61, and prayer is disabled during the fight. Therefore, your inventory should be mostly food.
• If you die, your items will be dropped in the Barrelchest room. You will have to run back to Brother Tranquility to teleport you back and retrieve your items.
• Barrelchest is not instanced, which means more than one player can enter the room. However, the room is a single-combat zone.
• If you are using Melee, it helps to bring a Crystal Halberd (or dragon) so you can hit it twice with its special attack. Vengeance runes also help if you have access to them.

Once you're teleported with your gear, you'll end up in this room. Be sure to eat as you take damage, as you can possibly die if you're not careful.


Once you have defeated Barrelchest, it will drop a barrelchest anchor. You need 60 Attack and 40 Defense to equip it.


Once you pick up your anchor, teleport out as Barrelchest will respawn momentarily. You're welcomed to fight Barrelchest as many times as you wish for multiple barrelchest anchors.
