What is your suggestion?:

Tradeable donor ranks

Is this in OSRS?:

No

Has this suggestion been accepted already?:

No

How would this benefit Alora?:

No more rank xfering for omi

So let me try to explain my idea to you. I was thinking about tradeable ingame donor ranks. For example with maybe 100-500 tokens you can buy a master donor token which will remove 5k of your total donated and give you a tradeable item in game which you can claim to get 5k donated on your account. If you would buy a extreme donor rank you would lose 250$ donated ect. Would make rank xfering not needed anymore and with a little token coast no1 would keep xfering their rank. Let me know what you think and if you dont understand send me a pm on forums and I will try to explain it more.

EDIT: After some disscussing we came up with higher prices from higher donator ranks. For example:

Super donator 200 tokens

Extreme donator 500 tokens

Legendary donator 800 tokens

Uber donator 1300 tokens

Master donator 2000 tokens

This would make xfering your rank pretty expensive so people wont do it over and over plus keep the bond flow going.

The system is currently made so you can't just keep transferring the benefit from one account to another (which is why it is a one time transfer $250+).

As it would be unfair to keep giving the same advantage to multiple accounts from donating on a singular account, no support.

Plus very easy to get Master Donator for free ;)

That is the whole point. Making things easier as there is only one person that can transfer it. Plus as he suggested there would be a fee and the donated amount removed from the account. I don't see any problems in this, if anything it would be a suggestion to help Omicron.

Big support, great suggestion.

Well first off. I think the donor rank shouldnt be attached to a account but rather a person since its that person that spend their moneys. with group ironman coming and me already having 1 account iwth master and 1 with uber I really dont feel like spending another year salary. And how is this easy free master donor?

A majority of the time somebody wants their rank transferred it's to or from an ironman account which makes making them tradeable pointless as Omicron would still have to transfer the ranks. Not to mention, ranks are already easy enough to buy via custom donation.

I see making the ranks openly tradeable causing issues with RWT and a few other rules.

No Support.

I don't think this is a bad idea at all and don't think this will cause any harm either, so why not. Support

Especially with the amount of tokens that you will have to pay to transfer a certain rank I think that this is not a bad idea at all. It's still an investment anyways. So why not, Support.

Could just be like bonds and just use it on an account. Ranks easy to buy with custom donation? Ye 1250$ of custom donations takes like no time to find....  RWT however I could see that as a problem in some matter.

I’m neutral on this. I can understand why this would be a good suggestion, but I’m pretty skeptical about it.

I am going to No Support this for the simple fact it's just something else that can potentially be real world trading. To be able to distinguish it is a challenge in itself I can only see this further complicating the entire process. But the idea is very nice but I can see what would be a very big flaw.

The potential for real world trade shouldn't be the first thing that pops into your mind when you see an update. Imagine when TOB was announced, "Mate this scythe will go for $150, better not add it". The same could be said about plat tokens, they could be (and are) used for RWTing, yet they got added. If anything, these donor status items would make it easier to track, just pay attention to each one that gets traded. Imagine if OSRS did their updates based on whether or not something would get RWTed, they'd never add any new big items.

I support this btw.

After seeing everybody’s arguments above, I will support this idea. Like you mentioned, when group Ironman comes out this would be very useful and also easier on Omicron.

1. This is a suggestion (not an official update) and I have given my unpopular opinion on the matter. I like to speak of things that come across my mind than stay quiet and never be heard.

2. What makes this complicated is that donator status is not in OSRS. Plat tokens are a part of OSRS (since we try to mirror OSRS as close as possible.). Yet you bring a very valid point on this subject and my devil's advocate could also say that 100k flax/grapes/gems etc. Can be or would be rwt'd.

3. As an active staff member I do agree these would make tracking the donator ranks much easier. It also enables a larger portion of our playerbase attempt to rwt. Therefore making this whole situation almost worse off than our current system.

4. Though adding a "money sink" to be able to transfer the donation is a great deterrent to most people who are in it for the money. It would stop a select few from doing so but not eliminating the problem itself. I completely agree to taking some of the work load off of Omicron as he works very hard at everything he does. That I can not deny.

5. I just think this idea needs to be elaborated on a bit more to not have any qualms from me personally regarding this subject.

Hope everyone is having a great day.

Yeah, this is very true. I think this will make it a lot easier on omicron and give him more time to focus on something else when group ironman comes out.
