Hello everyone.

Today we will be making a few changes to our Veteran rank. To those who are unfamiliar, the Veteran rank is a rank/award that is awarded to members who have both been around the game for a while as well as shown a positive presence within the community. This being said, we will be changing up the requirements a bit to better represent what the rank is supposed to really mean.

To apply for the Veteran rank you must meet the following requirements:

• You must have one year or older registration time.
• You must have 50 or more days play time in-game.
• You must have 30 or more days online time on the forums.
• You must have at least 250 post count on the forums.
• You must have 0 indiscretions within the last 3 months.
• You must provide proof that you meet ALL of the requirements.
• If you apply without having met the requirements, your request will be declined.

In addition, those who currently hold the Veteran rank are held to the following standards:

• You will not receive an infraction resulting in a ban/mute in-game or losing your ability to post on the forums
• You will represent Alora in a positive way at all times
• You will be respectful to other members of the community
• Failure to do so will result in your rank being removed
• If your rank is removed, you must wait 3 months before you're eligible to re-apply

Other:

• Anyone who reaches Global Moderator are exempt from the normal application requirements and will be granted the Veteran rank upon promotion
• The Administration Team reserves the right to decline/remove the Veteran rank as they see fit
• Players may NOT combine any of the requirements between accounts. The account you wish to hold the Veteran Rank on must meet ALL of the requirements
• If any staff member meets all of the requirements but post count this may be overlooked, since anything staff-related on the forums does not grant post count. This is enforced through the Administration Team's discretion.

Changes take effect as of 6/20/2019 and do NOT effect anyone who currently holds the Veteran Rank via the Grandfather Clause.

 

We have previously allowed players to combine certain requirements for the Veteran Rank which allowed players to obtain the rank on an account that didn't meet them by itself. This has made things a bit messy and, in a sense, defeats the meaning of a rank if it can be obtained on a newer account. Therefore, as of now, we will no longer be allowing players to combine ANY of the requirements for the Veteran Rank. The account you wish to hold the Veteran Rank on must meet ALL of the requirements on its own.

 

In addition, we've received multiple requests from players to transfer the Veteran Rank to a different account. Previously we did not allow this. But as of today, we will be allowing each player to transfer their Veteran Rank ONCE to a different account, provided that account also meets all of the requirements. These changes have been added to the "Other" section of the requirements and are as follows:

• Players may NOT combine any of the requirements between accounts. The account you wish to hold the Veteran Rank on must meet ALL of the requirements.
• Players may transfer their Veteran Rank to a new account that also meets all of the requirements. However, once the rank is moved, it is PERMANENT and can not be transferred again.

Changes take effect as of July 27th, 2020.

 

Previously anyone that reached Global Moderator or higher would have to resign from the staff team to be exempt from the normal application requirements. Moving forward anyone that reaches Global Moderator is exempt from the normal application requirements and will be granted the Veteran rank upon promotion. Anyone that currently holds the rank of Global Moderator will also be granted the Veteran rank if they don't have it already.

 

Additional change:

 

If any staff member meets all of the requirements but post count this may be overlooked, since anything staff-related on the forums does not grant post count. This is enforced through the Administration Team's discretion.

Changes takes effect as of November 27th, 2020.

 

Removed the following:

• Players may only hold the Veteran rank on 1 account at a time.
• Players may transfer their Veteran Rank to a new account that also meets all of the requirements. However, once the rank is moved, it is PERMANENT and can not be transferred again.

Previously we did not allow players to hold the Veteran rank on multiple accounts, but moving forward this is no longer the case. Players may hold the Veteran rank on as many accounts as they like as long as the account they wish to hold the rank on meets all of the requirements.
