I think people seem to think, because you have joined on the release date means automatically that you are a veteran, but I highly disagree, because of the people who determine it that way has left the server for a year/month(s) and then returned and expect getting the rank and actually has not shown anything that they deserve the rank and when their request is declined. There is a huge complain about the rank and how it is useless to have playtime requirement(s). Anyone can have account which is registered 2016 and did play a little bit, but that doesn't mean they are veteran. That's my 0.002 cents.

You are completely missing the point of the suggestion. The point of the suggestion is directed towards how easy it is for players to get 50d playtime on the forums/in-game because you can afk it. If you can afk it, it shouldn't be a requirement as it makes it unfair for people who actually have spent their time playing.

Also, people aren't in the wrong to think that. They were the first players apart of the community, and people who started the growth of the server it is now. Regardless if they quit for a year/month(s), they were the start of Aloras player base. If you feel that it's wrong for those players to feel they deserve the veteran rank after they had just returned, then you show no appreciation to those that played back then just how you play now.

Support for an AFK checker system and switching the requirements around. I'd suggest keeping the playtime, lessening the forums time but adding a requirement that the player in question needs to be an actually large figure in the community ("large" would be at staff's discretion of course.). Players like me, Inferno, Hot Cakes, Elsa, Extremedanny, 40a, Mewtwo etc.. are all well known in the community for what we do and I feel all deserve our ranks. I don't know how I'd feel about someone AFKing forums for 50 days, doing slayer for 50 days straight and not interacting with the community getting it though.

I think the in-game play time is fine if there is an anti afk system in place. As for forums, I mentioned above how a players activity here could be determined. And I agree that the current veterans have earned the rank.

For sure I can understand where you are coming from, if they made there account in 2016 then came back this year without playing for sure, I also feel there are still active players from 2016 who have played the magority of the time till now who don't use forums at all even who by some right would like it

I understand what you mean by large figure but what exactly would that entail? There are plenty of players that have contributed and continue to contribute to Alora such as myself up until recently. I'm not well known but I've done my fair share of activity. Unlike most, a majority of my time on Alora have been on the forum and in-game helping players. There are multiple aspects to the community that would be a factor towards one obtaining the rank. Dedication and loyalty should be the main factors here.

I'd much prefer to see a player who has been around for 6 months and contributed to Alora rather than someone who has been around for 1+ year and hasn't done much more than say a few words.

Side thought: what's the point of the ''old school" forum award? Shouldn't that be a rank? That's more prestigious than the Veteran in my opinion. Y'know, because the award is for players who have been around since 2016.

In response to those saying it should be given just for being around in 2016: as somebody who has played on and off since 2016, I personally wouldn't want to just be given the rank just for being fortunate enough to have played back then, I believe It should definitely remain something that's earned in someway or another.

In response to Horror's reply: giving it to those who are classified as a "large figure" within the community, I would have to disagree. I think this would probably be well suited for a completely different rank all together if that were an option. The term veteran means: "a person who has had long experience in a particular field.", the rank really shouldn't have anything to do with your contributions or how well known you are throughout the community. Many players, including myself, prefer to keep to ourselves for the most part, and I don't believe we should be excluded from being able to obtain the rank as a result of that. The rank should remain as a rank that's given to players who have been active members within the community for a long period of time.

- As for AFK'ing the time reqs, I completely agree that something should be done about it, if it were to be fixed the requirements could probably be scaled down a bit perhaps.

- As for the forum online time one, the current requirement seems a bit absurd. The forums aren't entirely active enough for that requirement to remain, at least not at 50 days.

- Post count probably shouldn't really be a requirement either as not all, if any, topics really peek the interest of many members; which can be also be in correlation to the level of forum activity. Personally, I don't have a huge gripe against this requirement as I try to visit the forums quite frequently.

Your comments on the " old school " forum award could be made into a suggestion. It's not a completely bad idea, but I feel that the staff team would never go for it.

I agree with your response to horror, that's been a point I've been trying to get across when it comes to the idea of what a " veteran " really is.

Thanks for the feedback on the suggestion so far to everyone who has replied.
