Currently, the dragon scimitar protects over a dragon pickaxe. Since the dragon scimitar is a shooting star reward, people could lose their dragon pickaxe without knowing this.

Perhaps this can be fixed, so people won't lose their dragon pickaxe? And I think I would rather lose a 100k dragon scimitar than a 20 million dragon pickaxe.

Luckily not! I heard it from someone who did learn it that way. At that moment I was also in the wilderness with 2 dragon scimitars .

Although this can be annoying, this is actually how it is on OSRS. A Dragon Scimitar has a high-alch value of 60,000 coins, while the Infernal Pickaxe has a high-alch value of 59,800. Even the Dragon Pickaxe on it's own is 58,770 coins in terms of it's high-alch value.

There is a reason there is a 'Risked Wealth' option on OSRS as well as Alora, it's to see what you risk when you're in the wilderness. As harsh as that may seem it's the players own fault for now knowing what they would protect in the case they died in the Wilderness, which is NOT a safe place to begin with.
