As it seems a lot of people have been having issues regarding their accounts being hacked, I am making this thread to show you around the different two-factor authentication applications, and how to use them. You can have a Two-factor Authentication applications saved onto your mobile device, or your computer. Depending on your preference. But please; DON'T DELETE THE APPLICATION, OR WRITE DOWN THE BACKUP CODE.

 

  Two-factor Authentication (2FA) provides and extra layer of security for your account, generating a code which you need to enter once you login. If you have 2FA set-up, and fail to provide the code, you cannot have full access to the account. Once enabled, you have to initially enter a code to login to the Forums and In-game. It is strongly recommended to have 2FA enabled.

 

A list of Two-factor Authentication applications supported by Alora:

 

- Duo-Mobile

- Google Authentication

- Authy

- WinAuth

 

 

How to setup 2FA on Alora;

Step 1

  Firstly, once you login to the forums, head to the top of the screen and click your orange name, to go to your profile page.

 

 

Step 2

  Once at your profile page, look over to the right side of the screen and click "Edit my Profile".

 

 

Step 3

  When you've gotten to the edit page, you'll notice a variety of options under the title "My Settings". Click on "Two-step Authentication".

 

 

Step 4

  Once there, you'll be directed to a screen with recommended Two-step Authentication applications, and a button to enable 2FA. You can either choose to go to the bottom of the screen and press the button, or on the left on the menu, you can choose "Setup". Both of these methods link to the same page.

 

 

Step 5

  After, you'll be linked to this page;

 

 

From here, depending on the method, it will ask you to scan a picture of the code, or enter the secret key (underlined red in the picture). Once recognized, your Two-factor Authentication application will generate a random key each time when pressed that you need to enter.

 

Step 6

   Take the random key generated and enter it here;

 

 

Step 7

  Once you login to your account via the client, this message will appear;

 

 

And then you'll be here;

 

 

When there, press "Enter 6-digit secret code" and enter your randomly generated code.

 

 

Step 8

  Once you enter your code, you will have the option to trust this device for 31 days. Accept that to proceed.

 

 

You now have 2FA enabled on your account and will receive Bonus EXP for an hour when redeeming Vote Books!

 

 

To remove 2FA;

 If you'd like to remove 2FA, just visit the "Account guardian" located in the Edgeville bank and request it to be removed.

 

 

 

Most Two-factor Authentication are rather straight-forward. But in the future I will possibly add how to use each program if requested. As of right now, I use Duo-Mobile as my application and it works great.

 

Setting up Duo-Mobile

Step 1

 Once you've downloaded Duo-Mobile, and have signed up. You will be taken to the main page. Once there, in the top right corner you will see the "+" sign, use this to add authentication for different websites.

 

Step 2

  Once there, you can either choose to scan the bar-code given with your phone, or press "no bar-code", scroll down to the bottom of the page and press "Other". 

 

Step 3

  There, you can enter the name of the website/account this random key is used to unlock the account for, and enter the secret key (in Step 5). And you'll be good to go.

• Bonus EXP when redeeming Vote Books

Reminder: You must relog in game and enter in your 2fa code before you are able to get bonus EXP!
