I love the suggestion but I feel there’d be more disadvantages than advantages with doing this. I’m assuming the rates fluctuate every so often, this means

would have to change this in the class files handling the donations to the well every time that the rate changes. Restarting the server every time the rate changes doesn’t seem plausible, and is definitely waste of time.
I’m staying neutral on this. I’d also love to hear other’s opinion(s) on this suggestion, or possible additions to this suggestion.

However, as

pointed out, it doesn't really have to change to compensate what the players are swapping their Classic-Normal GP for, why not just set it at a permanent 1:2? Players are free to swap their GP for what ever floats their boats, but in the example of thieving: You steal a Battlestaff as a regular player, it sells for 5,550GP, you steal that same staff as a classic member and it sells for 2,775GP. So the reality of it is, they get half of a regular player, if a regular member stole 2M worth of GP in an hour of thieving a Classic player would get 1M in that same amount of effort.
