Duo Ironman: The introduction

 

Alora is, and has been a game to enjoy and play with your friends ever since the release. Hardcore ironman, Ultimate ironman, and normal Ironman mode are all enjoyed by many in the community. Unfortunately these are game modes that are enjoyed primarily single player and alone. Dont get this wrong, Ironmen are part of the community and play with the rest of the community, but they lack the full benefits of the social factor of Alora.

Therefore Duo Ironman mode. Where the challenge of the Ironman modes are included, but cooporation, strategy, sharing the hard work and enjoying the achievements with friends at the same time.

 

(These are exampels of the icons) Comment below what one would be the proper & fit for the mode.

 

 

About the gamemode:

(The rules can be changed and determined by @Omicorn)

 

When you start a new account and choose to play the Duo Ironman mode, you are given a "Invitation scroll". With this item you can choose any freshly start player and form a duo. 

 

- Standard Ironman rules

 

- You can trade with your partner only

 

It is possible to de-rank into regular Ironman mode, however all items are lost.

Your partner will keep his/her rank and has the ability to choose a new partner which has also lost his/her duo partner, if they both are willing to sacrifice all of their items to start over. The left-alone will remain their Duo Ironman rank and will always have the ability to choose a partner in the future.

sounds like a waste of time to code, Ironman is meant to be solo. if you dont wanna do that play reg/classic and play primarily only with that one person.

Don't think it's really necessary, if you wanted to play duo ironman play classic it's the closest you'll get.

I mean just look at classic, was a hit sure but how many have stuck to it?

To be honest, Yes it's true omicron can better focus on coding different important things, but i never said this should be released tomorow it can be released any time, and i don't really think you see the concept of this, This is basicly ironman with a friend, to make this server more unique apart from others.

Classic is like a big ironman mode with friends.

 

Let's say this was released, and i paired up with someone, they quit and i had no one to pair with, i pretty much would have started a brand new ironman for no reason.

 

Classics still a fresh release i just don't see this being a thing anytime soon, maybe when osrs release it to bring new players in.

Thing is with classic is the game experience maybe there are people that dont like the xp rates, and let's compare something | Classic = Transfer possible, you can transfer regular gold to classic, which seems in my eye's not fair, then you say it's a big ironman mode ? nah it's far away for a ironman mode, but i'm not here to start a arguement, you said your point and it stays with it.

Classic is basically duo ironman considering the amount of people play it.

 

 Make content for all gamemodes, don't make gamemodes.

I thought about this a while back, but given players quitting there's no way to really make a fair solution to allowing a player to then queue up w/ another ironman. You gave a solution but it involves wiping the entire banks of each user, which would cause the game mode to become dead quite quickly.

 

 

Not to mention the coding that would go into this. Classic mode itself provides more than enough.

 

I also don't support them getting to become normal ironmen, unless their banks are wiped. Reason being, I could make a level 3 and do no work while my partner grinds for thousands of hours and then he trades me all of the items and I then de-iron.

I'd be cool with this if you..

 

1. Could enable Duo-Ironman, but be stuck with that partner until someone De-irons. He who de-irons loses their bank, and you retain normal ironman status with the able to enable Duo with a new partner.

2. Slight drop rate nerf AND Row (i) unwearable while duo is active.

Don't understand the premise of this game-mode, is it essentially a dead rsps simulator?

 

Maybe wait to see if and how it performs on osrs before wasting dev time on it

I'm with Hex on this; read it through and IF classic mode was not available this would be a great idea but on the premise that this is pretty much already available - unfortunately I do not support this.
