I find people getting Server Support too quickly.  Those who apply for the rank, gets a couple of "supports" and gets promoted the next day or the upcoming day.  

Example; Miss Sara applied like 2 days ago and got promoted the next day.

 

- You can afk in-game for "playtime". <- there should be a 3-minute logout timer

- "Low post count" 

- Who is Picaluga?

If they do their job and helps people, they are promoted. Simple as that, the people promoted have merits that we want and fit in well with the team.


The role of server supporters is essentially to help and be a positive entity in the community. If you exemplify these traits, I'd be happy to work with you on the team regardless of your post count or play time.

I understand when people doing their job. The only thing I everytime see at people want Server Support are yelling "Need help? PM me in-game or join the 'Alora' clan chat!". We need a other way to get promoted like that, because everybody is doing that to get Server Support...

If that is an issue, let me assure you that the newly promoted staff members do not fall into the broad category you brought up. Although it is important to publicize yourself in order to help more people, let me assure you that those who were promoted have been consistently helping in help cc and in the community. In addition, many promotions have assets that we value such as experience and maturity.

Ofcourse it is the easiest way to get a promotion. But as I said, I haven't seen Miss Sara yelling if people need help to pm her or to join the Alora clanchat. She applied 2 days ago and got promoted the next day with a couple of supports

If I am right @Beproud started this , yells for help. Kinda think they've deserved it to be server support (also if they yell) because they do not only yell, of course behind the 'famous' yell they help people. It's also a unique chance to prove yourself, I can't really say that it's a hasty decision. We're promoting them for a reason, and what we think is best at that time.

I agree with what your saying, I don't even see some of the newly promoted ss in-game at times. Yes that could be because of different timezones and I'm fine with that. I just find it ridiculous at times when someone posts a staff app, and there post is rushed as in there answers are 1-2 sentences and at times aren't even the best answers. There post count is low and there promoted. I know a ss doesn't need to be active on forums at all. But, for the people who basically only hang around the forums, if we don't see them in-game we can at least communicate with them on the forums. Then again, its usually those people that have like 5 post count and "Hey welcome to SS". 

 

Tbh this is me ranting. Sorry for that but, its my opinion on people getting promoted at times. That's why I said in the staff update "Everyone congrats on being promoted, couple are eh imo" and yeah there are definitely some people who deserve to be staff and some who don't and that the timezone plays a big factor in my whole opinion.

She did a great job, is a great person, professional, she stands out from all the other apps.

We expect that she's going to do amazing job.

@Dutchie & @Monaco - @Miss Sara has been playing for a while, I know this because it was an early encounter of mine in the wilderness. I suppose there isn't any reason for this post, rather than to say that they aren't "new" but I do agree more people should've replied to her application before it being accepted or denied.

1 - I am not going to delay promotions if I am going to eventually accept them. This is because I know they are doing a good job, and will continue to do a good job in the future. This happened in multiple cases, the fastest I have accepted an application was not even to have an application. And if you do not consider that one the fastest would be an app that was not even up for 30 minutes.

 

2 - Yelling is not a requirement for helping, as long as you can do a good job. Present your application in a nice format and are already helping in the clan chats in which my team has already seen you actively doing a good job you will most likely get promoted. Yelling is always a bonus, and you will probably get the habit of it while you are SS, but by no means a requirement.

Hello there,

I applied after i got experience in the game and plus i played osrs 10 years i am maxed on osrs. I can see why you would be concern. Just re-apply if you think you can do "staff" as well if you have a concern. I try to do my best as possible to help every person in my way.

Oldschool Runescape 10 years played and maxed has nothing to do with it. It bothers me if someone apply for SS, they get accepted like after 5 "supports"

It's a volunteer helping position. Don't see why this would effect you, especially if they can do the job..lol.

The community will never decide who gets promoted onto the staff team. Blank also didn't decide to promote them, I did.

 

I have been watching her and Cam only sit in help cc for hours on end for the past 2 weeks doing nothing but helping. They are both extremely active and helpful which is why we chose them so quickly. You should be happy that we have QUALITY server supports to benefit you and rest of Alora when you need help.
