Hey everyone,

 

First of all I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit this thread!

 

I'm sure most of you have experienced this when bossing; It can get really, REALLY crowded at times. There is only one world on this server, and there are many people who enjoy PvM. This is especially frustrating if you're not using max dps gear, because you're bossing to make money or you're an ironman. There are a couple ways to tackle this problem. You could increase the amount of worlds, or you could make instanced versions of boss rooms. I think that making an instance version of boss rooms would be a great solution. 

 

The main downside I foresee is obviously more items entering the game. This would lead to an imbalanced economy, right? Well how about you would have to pay to enter an instance.. Let's say you pay a certain fee per 30 minutes of instance. This would act as a gold sink & balance the economy in a way. I feel that paying per 30 minutes would be a good timeframe. Per hour would be too long of a time, since this feature will probably be used often by slayers and tasks are generally finished easily within an hour, or even 30 minutes. The price of instances could vary per boss, feel free to discuss a fair price in the comments.

 

This instance would be up for 30 minutes, no matter what. You could bank and return to your instance just ticking away in time. It would be personal, other players can NOT join your instance. Most people seem to solo bosses, so there wouldn't be much of an issue on that front.

Thanks for your support, however I feel that 5-10M per 30minutes is quite expensive. The droprates in general are about 1.23x more common than in OSRS, so it would still take quite some time to get drops on average. I personally had something like 1M in mind.

I agree, some bosses can be very frustrating when you get outdamaged 24/7 but making gwd instanced would be too much.
The items you can get there are just too good. Even with the fee.. Just look at the Armadyl armor set, those items are already super cheap and the more of those get into game the cheaper they will get.

 

I support DKs beeing instanced.. Mole aswell maybe.

 

I wish they would add a 2nd world though.. that would be the best solution for this problem in my opinion.

Maybe a Donator only world or even a PvP world..

You could still go do Bosses on the PvP world, only downside would be it beeing more dangerous.

Thanks for your extensive feedback. I agree that a second world could also be a very valid solution, and yes this could be a donor world in my opinion as well. The DKS have a special lair in OSRS which is just for players on a slayer task of Dagannoth or DKS, that could also be considered. 

 

EDIT: I think that the reason why Armadyl armour is so cheap is that the minions have a higher droprate to drop the armour pieces than the minions of other GWD bosses. (0.33% for Armadyl, 0.13% for Bandos, 0.02% for Saradomin, 0.02% for Zamorak)

Surely this would just crash the price of items? As there would be less cash in game and more items.

I could support this, I feel as if there should be at the very least a 5m fee per 30 minutes though. That should balance out the economy.

A fee for an instanced boss is not a suitable solution in my opinion. Firstly, like Monaco says, the fee will not have the desired effect since it won't prevent the economy from crashing. Apart from that, I think this will not work for ironmen since they can't sell the items. They will run out of money much faster than regular players. Also, they will be ''forced'' to pay coins to get the items they want, and that's something that doesn't fit the ironman game mode. 

 

I think the instanced slayer bossrooms are a better solution. This means that people with for example a DK's task can enter the instanced lair to complete the task. Those extreme tasks are usually not much longer than 30 kills, so the economy will be much less affected. 

 

I would like to hear your opinion about this.

I don't have much affinity with economics, so I can't say much about the effect on the economy, however I disagree with your statement that it won't work for ironmen. It's not like you must pay to kill bosses. The regular boss room would still be open to anyone. So you're not forced to pay in any way like you said. I feel that ironmen have a lot of spare cash, and I personally wouldn't mind paying a fee to have a personal boss room. Thanks for your feedback regardless, I appreciate all the input :)

I do not support paying to go in god wars but maybe there should be a donator god wars dungeon so its not quite instanced and spreads players between the two or something along those lines.

I think this would be a nice addition to the server.

 

Adding a cost for the instance would add another money sink into Alora.

Perhaps around 3-4m for 20-30mins, that sounds reasonable.

Ofc this is an issue and i would like to see something being done about this, but instanced bossing will just bring more issues in return, like crashing of the economy. I do however like the idea of instanced slayer tasks, this will not affect the economy that much since you won't be able to camp a boss (unless you keep canceling till you get the specific task but even this could take a long time) I think a combination of the 2 would be better like:
 

"your assignment is to kill 8 general graador, would you like this task to be instanced for 800k?" and just have a simple yes or no option (100k per kill, just an idea. nothing final)

I've actually suggested this exact same idea on another suggestion thread about making Godwars Dungeons Instanced:

 

How about ontop of instancing, decrease the drop rates for GWD Bosses/Minions and add a fee of maybe 100k/min to stay inside? So click on the door, an option appears and you choose how many coins you want to put in, could be 100k/min so if you put 1m that's 10minutes. Once inside a timer appears and goes down for as long as you are inside the room. Leaving pauses the timer and you can resume by going back inside. Also you can stack payments so perhaps you pay 1m first, then decide that's not enough so you put in 5m more, totalling 6m which equals 1 hour.

 

Or have it so you pay for how many times the GWD Boss appears. For example, the minimum fee to enter is 200k which is 1 kill, so if you pay 1m to enter Bandos, then Bandos will appear 5 times (this includes his initial spawn when you enter). 200k x 5 = 1m. 

 

You can even make it so each GWD Boss has different prices as each one may be harder/have more valued drops.

 

Literally just throwing ideas out there so yeah.

 
I support adding a fee to enter an instanced boss lair.

Bosses that would be alright beeing instanced would be DKs, KBD, KQ and the Giant Mole in my opinion.
Having those instanced would barely affect the economy.

We have plans for instanced bossing. It isn't a super high priority (compared to things like HCIM and construction) but it is coming relatively soon.
