This may have been suggested throughout the time the servers been running but I would love to have the option to be able to change your name once ingame for a set price E.G 2 Bonds to change your name once

I don't know how I feel about this, not to mention you'd see scammers changing their names as a result of this option. It would also be pretty confusing learning who's who.

 

I know currently the only way to name change is if the name's offensive, or emulates a staff member. I'm leaning towards no support, but if you can convince me otherwise I'm all ears.

 

EDIT: I do realize osrs lets you change your name w/ bonds. I think the price to change your name one time would be okay, but for an expensive price.

 

EDIT2: What would this do for people who are hacked (hacker changes name)? Would the entire login change, or would it just be the display name like osrs..?

@Syntax, coding will be tricky but as for figuring out who's who, old rs in friends tab showed old toons name before name changed when hovered over. Also it will only change display name in-game. As well as you will always have scammers who change to other accounts so this makes no difference.

I support if coding can be done if not then shit happens.

I support name changes but, there would have to be a way to see peoples past usernames. And also make it so u can only change it once a month or so.

As long as there is a system to see previous names like on rs then its perfectly fine in my opinion.

I remember a few times on RS3(please don't murder me) there were bugs that stopped you seeing peoples previous names and it was complete chaos.

 

Definitely support, this feature exists in pretty much every game i play currently, so its nothing new to anyone.

I would probably say 1 bond = 1 name change, just to stop people abusing it , and possibly show all previous names on the persons forum profile?

 

Or possibly allow a free change every x days so people cant spam change

1 Name change ever 30 or even 90 days, then having to use bonds to reduce the time would be nice.
