The more popular the server gets, the more crowded certain areas get (Wyverns, Cyclops, other common slayer areas). Most of these areas give both good/useful drops as well as provide an area that is currently AFKable. My suggestion is basically to make a rule to outlaw AFKing. It's frustrating to be trying to progress and actively play Alora with so many users just AFKing commonly assigned slayer monsters.

Thoughts?

Edit: Could be solved by introducing an NPC aggression timer that prevents NPCs in a certain area from auto-attacking after ~15minutes?

Yeah man add even more rules with loopholes that get you fucked in the end even though you're doing nothing wrong.

Picture this, you go to kill something, and while you're killing it you don't notice the message a staff member is typing to you. You get punished, why? because you weren't replying. How do you prove you weren't afk? you can't unless you're recording 24/7, which most people aren't.

No support at all to add more rules when the ones set in place already are so unclear and unfair.

So, couldn't the staff member send them Home so they can AFK away from the monsters and stop auto-retaliating? Perhaps an introduction of a auto-retaliate timer should be sooner rather than later.

That is a possibility, yes. Although I still wouldn't support it, as there are many other scenarios that could occur where the player would be wrongfully accused and punished. Sorry. Good luck with this thread. If you wish to discuss further, feel free to PM me. I don't want to get another forum warning because staff can't handle the truth.

A rule for being AFK against a monster is utterly stupid, in my opinion. As @Turban eater said, there are many other scenarios that could occur where the player would be wrongfully punished. If I was to be killing hellhounds and I quickly needed to run downstairs, I don't expect to have to teleport home / log out of the game just to do so. I expect to be able to run downstairs and leave my game how it is, taking the risk of death for being afk and not taking the risk of being punished for something so minor and silly.

The best way to do this, as you suggested in the edit, would be to have a timer which would cause npc's to stop being aggressive after being in that area for a certain amount of times. Although this is still iffy.

Out of all the times I've trained slayer. I believe I'm 22M experience. I have never gone to a spot to say "Wow, it's too crowded to train here."

I think you're all missing what I said? Nowhere in my suggestion did I say anyone should be banned. I am proposing a rule against AFKing (that could result in a staff member sending the user back Home), or the introduction to an aggression timer.

I was mainly making the reference how banning ragging was dumb and if this is done, more dumb rules will cont. to be suggested and added.
