Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 cup yellow cornmeal

  •  cup white sugar

  • 3 ½ teaspoons baking powder

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 cup milk

  •  cup vegetable oil

  • 1 large egg

Directions
  1. Gather the ingredients.

  2. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

  3. Whisk flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, and salt together in a large bowl.

  4. Add milk, vegetable oil, and egg; whisk until well combined.

  5. Pour batter into the prepared pan.

  6. Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of the pan comes out clean, 20 to 25 minutes.
