What is your suggestion?: Eiher boost the drop rate of molch pearls, or lower the price of some things in the pearl shop.

 

Is this in OSRS?: Yes, I suppose you'd say it is.

 

Has this suggestion been accepted already?: No.

 

How would this benefit Alora?: At the moment the pearl shop is a bit expensive as the rate of receiving pearls is a tad low, even when using a vote book for the 15% boost it's still a little slow, I've been doing Aerial Fishing quite a bit as it's something I enjoyed doing on OSRS, and the pearls feel almost as slow as they are on OSRS, and the 15% boost doesn't really feel like it does much. The angler outfit costs a total of 200 pearls, the rods are alright I suppose with the highest tier being 75 pearls that's not too bad, but as far as the fish sack and angler outfit they're a bit expensive as far as the rate of pearls are obtained.

And currently I feel that our rate for pearls isn't much higher, and that's with using the 15% vote boost for them.

I recently did 2-3 hours of ariel fishing for the weekend events and managed to get about 450 pearls in that time. Ariel fishing has already been buffed + shop lowered from original release. I dont think it needs to be any easier than it already is. 

It really does not take that long. No Support.

 

 

 

p.s. Shop used to be x2 the value of pearls than what it used to be (anglers 100 a piece, and fish sack 1000 pearls)

Was the weekend event a boosted pearl event by chance? I missed it so I have no idea. But yeah I don’t think they’re “way uncommon” by any means, but maybe I was just having some bad rng who knows. Thanks for the feedback and information though!

The price of the fish sack being more than every other item combined in the shop doesn't make sense to me.

Would love if the prices of everything else stayed the same and the price of the fish sack was reduced(perhaps halved).

In comparison to OSRS and when Aerial fishing was released in Alora; the price of items have already been significantly reduced.

I did notice a slight ‘slow’ gathering while I was getting my anglers outfit. Though when I used the Vote Book boost, I easily gained 40-50 pearls per hour just from side-afk.

For me this is a No Support . I think we’ve decreased it enough, even though I’m dreading getting the fish stack, I think it’s well balanced. Considering we also may/will get boost from weekday/weekend bonuses.

Agree with this, I recently just went to get my set and took me less than 4 hours when it used to be 10+ hours just for the set alone. No support in changing it even though it would be nice to get more pearls, w/ a vote book boost it's already pretty darn quick. 

 

Sometimes I'll go 100 catches and get 8-12 pearls or sometimes you'll only get 3 in 100, all rng.

1. If you don't read updates or other suggestions than thats your problem.

2. This update the Omi change the rate so you get much more that previous rates.

3. You have to grind everything, don't make it easyer for yourself if you cry that you don't have a set in 2h 

4. You have a chance of receiveing a golden tench that you can trade for 2 part of set's

l do read updates I just happened to miss it, I enjoy the grind I just felt it was a bit slow and felt a bit similar to OSRS, I’m fine with grinding that’s the whole point of my game mode. As I stated, I must’ve just had a bit of bad rng cause I did another run there and got more that time.

This chance is further reduced another 15% if you have the vote bonus active, meaning that at level 99 hunter and fishing you could expect to get a pearl every 16 catches, or every 13 if using the vote bonus. At 80 fishing/hunter, it'd be about 1/20, and 1/17 is using the vote book. This means that if a player had 99 hunter and fishing, and used the efficient strategy stated on the wiki to catch 1600-1800 fish an hour, they would obtain 123 - 138 pearls an hour, which is far greater than OSRS. I'm not sure if this is actually viable in practice, but even if you got 1200 per hour at 99 hunter/fishing, it should still be around 92 pearls an hour with the vote bonus.

Okay thanks for clearing it up, that's definitely more than osrs as osrs you can only expect I believe around 15 pearls an hour or so. I knew our rate would be higher, I must've just been getting unlucky that run.

@Omicron do boosts effect the pearl drop rate like in OSRS? It doesn't seem that 1600+/hr catches is possible the ticks/distance seems uniform. I can get 1100/hr with ~60 pearls in that time.
