Suggestion regarding rules and punishments

I'm suggesting for the staff of Alora to revise the punishments for RWT, specifically for selling wealth. Currently an account ban is handed out for the selling of gold, which in my opinion has no backbone. It doesn't really prevent anyone from not RWTing again. In my instance, which is why I even got the idea to bring this up, I had my main banned last year for this offence. The only difference it made is that i'm no longer maxed. I'm still tediously playing on- and trying to max my alt account for the sake of getting back where i was. Now if I hadn't changed my mind about this since a long time, there is literally nothing stopping me from going down the RWT route once again.

I suggest to change the future punishments for the offence of selling wealth or gold to an IP ban. And this is a humble opinion by me that I felt I needed to have courage to say, despite having been banned for this exact thing. I think it's for the better of this server when it comes to preventing RWT in general.

I don't see the point in revising the punishment for RWT. If a player re-offends they'll be IP-banned, which in itself is hardly a punishment or a deterent from RWT for players who are purely on Alora simply to make a buck because it's easily bypassed via VPN, but in the case of regular players who are not enticed by monetary gains at the expense of their progress on Alora, these punishments are indeed deterrents, and effective at that. But at the end of the day, there are players within the RSPS community who will seek to RWT regardless of the consequences or how stringent the rules may be. In your case, if you're continually thinking of RWT'ing even after your first offence has passed than you're simply playing for the wrong reasons and in that case regardless of strict ruling you're most probably going to end up going down the same path regardless. I believe Alora is one of the better servers out there at mitigating RWT.

Out of all the staff members we have, I'm one of a few who have a very good look on Real-World Trading. When I became staff in January of 2017 I specifically hunted Real-World Traders (my main is Collerkar76) and tried to minimize Alora from the black market. For a long time I was the only person handling RWTing bans, until a few staff members joined and stayed (Hot Cakes being one of them). We've banned hundreds of billions, if not trillions of gold from Alora's economy.

Giving an IP Ban or a MAC Ban immediately to a gold seller whether it's a one time seller (selling their items and quitting), or a goldshop is pointless. This is because if that person really wants to RWT again, they'll just spoof. If you actually think about it, the smartest thing to do is NOT IP/MAC Ban the repeat goldsellers. This is because they'll still use the same credentials they used the first time RWTing.

I have many other reasons as to why not to do it, but I can't leak them since it can jeopardize the ways we catch RWTers, and how we keep the highest ban rate for RWTing in RSPS. I can say that IP/MAC/UUID Ban for a goldseller is full of disadvantages, there's no advantages.

No that's not true. :P

Gold Buyer (first time offender) = 3 Day Ban & Bank Wipe | Gold Buyer (second time offender) = Permanent Ban & Bank Wipe | Gold Buyer (third time+ offender) = Permanent MAC/IP/UUID Ban

Gold Seller (first time offender) = Permanent Ban & Bank Wipe | Gold Seller (second time+ offender) = Permanent MAC/IP/UUID Ban

--> When I ban someone and they're getting a MAC/IP/UUID I'm very thorough, this is when I manually ban each account they've ever used on their MAC/IP/UUID so that if they ever spoof or by-pass these bans they're still banned.

People would simply change their IP address and start rwting again.

No support.

Shame that there’s still gaps in the system that you can’t see.

Shame that you thought you were great at catching Real-World Traders.

There may be some gaps, but our system is pretty good. Like I said, we have the highest ban rates for RSPS' and a lot of shops refuse to even touch Alora because of it. The shops that do touch it get caught, but their methods are unique and harder to catch (infact, I caught a shop two days ago and it produced quite a bit of evidence for numerous bans). The methods they use we're working on establishing a way to catch them easier rather than jumping through hoops.

If you really think Alora has a bad system, check it out. I obviously can't link you to anywhere, or tell you publicly but I know you're smart enough to check into it.
